Technically the Panther is a Heavy tank (specifically designed to kill other tanks) of the Medium Pz Company which utilised PzIVs as their std equipment - the simplest analogy that compares for the Allies is British use of the Firefly with the 17Pdr (as the tank killer) within the other std 75m Shermans in the troop, as context of operational doctrine.
That bit of trivia aside, if they apply / upgrade their damage models to be more in line with WT, then the tank combat should become a lot more consistent and enjoyable - that and fixing their object boxes which artificially intercept shells and randomly constrain what “looks like” a feasible LOS.
well problem is in game design. limited vehicle slots make it impossible to effectively counter ally planes. not to mention ally fighters could be also counted as CAS.
so ally could take fighter and it would be counted as CAS, or if he has premium he can take tank and fighter (CAS) and he can kill planes and deal damage on ground.
for axis if you take attacker plane, then it is mostly ju188 who doesnt have machine gun that player can operate, so it is easy target for both ally fighter and attacker planes. if you take tank and attacker plane same situation. but if you take fighter you lose on any CAS like US has.
so solution would be that we can take 3 vehicle squads in battle, but they would have 1 vehicle cooldown (unless you have premium or vehicle slots or whatever)

P-47 has some of the worst flying maneuvers in game. It’s basically a flying bus. Any fighter that gets on your 6 is 100% to shoot you down unless your just a bad pilot.

They’re also bullet sponges, the pilot may get easily on your 6 but they will run out of ammo before you go down, esp if they were strafing before the air to air fight was joined. They also (like the IL-2 in the Moscow campaign) defy the laws of physics/aerodynamics and literally hang in the air, where I’ve tried to reduce speed on German fighters so as not to overfly them and promptly fell out of the sky or had to break off the attack to prevent from doing so once I realised that flight models only apply to certain nations…
I found Tunisia much more balanced between the flight models of the British, Italian and German planes.
The US/Soviet flight models more broadly are broken and you can outfly anything and turn on a dime.
it WAS the only advantage allies had in Normandy. Lvl 24, not winning since… 2 months probably. Full plane/assault/flamethrower player, and i can say the german bomber planes are broken as fuck with the new torret (also, P47 Thunderbolt, 2 complete magazines to take down a bf 110 that magically couldn’t take out of my back in the hole match).
The next things is that Gajin will introduce the Messerschmitt Me 262 (firs reaction plane in WWII) because Allies in Normandy are still broken… fuck off mate.
the balance of the game is broken. Axis are stronger as fuck since all of you started crying last summer. And still you ain’t happy.
