It might work, but the task is absurdly difficult because of inaccurate guns.
Just why the jumbo never fires a panther machine gun, even up close. It is after all so easy according to jumbo drivers
I’m pretty sure that is because the 37mm has an all HE belt, which would make it’s pen like 10mm. Also, I went back to the Razorback P-47 and I realized something about M8s, its not that the rocket itself is OP, it is how it is mounted on the P-38 that makes it really good. The P-38 is the only plane that has it’s rockets mounted on the fuselage, meaning you don’t have to account for convergence like any other plane, You can account for drop easier because convergence is a non factor and dispersion is further minimized because of a lack of convergence, making the P-38 really easy to aim. There really isn’t a good solution for this, doing too much of anything will either make the P-38 completely busted, or not worth playing whatsoever. You cannot balance your way out of a unique intentionally designed feature of an IRL aircraft like that.
The m8 missile just needs to penetrate 24 mm of armor and do the right damage and that’s it. All at once everything will become normal. Even on the p38.
As it is, it’s pretty damn easy to hit.
Likewise HVAR - 36mm penetration and proper damage.

nop even if it pen there is literally no reason to do it AP doesnt do damage,
there is none chasing you, when you’re in a panther or tiger the only treat is air support.
you can literally sit there for minutes on end and the only 2 tanks that can deal seriuos damage to you are OH killable
No, Hvar is actually 5-7 times weaker. Not as much on infantry, but the damage is still overstated.
In WT Hvar does not often kill a tiger or panther with 1 hit and does not penetrate them in the side and forehead. Only the roof. It’s broken here.

You usually get killed by OP missiles before you get to a position, so it doesn’t matter

If the missiles work properly, US planes will still be better than German planes, only Normandy planes in general will not kill tanks in 5 seconds.
