This game needs a filter when it comes to names. Not a day goes by without some SS idiot or LSSAH type showing up in the game. Just like 88 etc. And don’t give me the date of birth thing. We all know what that’s aimed at.
I’m tired of having to read people courting things they don’t even begin to comprehend.
The other day I was playing a match in Stalingrad and one of my opponent’s ingame name was the literal name of a famous austrian painter. I even met people with swastika symbol as well in their name tag. Quite entertaining.
This game seems to have a censorship mode where the skull symbol will turn into a white cross. They just need to add 1 more function: player nicknames can be replaced with randomly generated names. This will be very useful to streamers.
Some people even use some anti humanity nicknames and they use homophones and misspellings to avoid censorship, although you know these people are all mentally disabled, seeing these nicknames still makes people feel uncomfortable.
I’ve seen tons of funny sash man fighting for the soviet’s in Berlin. There for it is now my head canon he changed sides
But realistically.
just report em, Bully em and make their game as unfun as possible, and move on.
They’ll get bored, angry, or whatever and you can enjoy a nice chuckle.
If im not mistaken there is a setting for that already in one of the option. It replace all other player with random names with the exception of your party member if you are in a party.
Reports do get looked at by a particular team (same with cheater reports) so always feel free to submit them
I wonder if this type of stuff is more common on Stalingrad, I was playing there once and I saw 3 players on the enemy team next to each other having SS next to their name

If they allow you to write “Z” and “V” symbols, hammers and sickles on the tanks, they won’t do anything about this either. (But for some reason the swastika in the flags generated by the game is replaced by a cross, while other games have freedom of choice - on/off function. Simple). But such things have been in the game for a long time now. Old news - life goes on.
ah the days of the War Thunder subreddit fighting about this were interesting, I mean that’s gaijin anyway, I still remember when they disabled the chat on WT due to this, honestly I kinda understand why they don’t add you know what flag to the game but funny enough the Rising Sun flag is in the game and is not like that flag is that much different in terms of controversy but let’s not get into this in this forum le’ts keep it related to the topic

Modern society begging for censorship because they can’t deal with few irrelevant nicknames.
