Next major MAP package for ALL campaigns

I play the maps that the game has provided.

  • I just jump in to a game that I play and continue playing.

There could/ Should be a map extension, more maps for every campaign.

One major push for it and addition of 5-10 maps to each campaign. This would give it a lot more depth overall to all of these campaigns at once, which in return would increase the depth of the game substantially.

I have a feeling that the game itself does not max. out the capabilities and opportunities of the campaigns it already has to the fullest extent.

  • I am fully aware that there is a map editor provided, which is nice however the maps generally are not in the cycle once you just open the game, pick your campaign and press “play”. On the other hand, players can make maps out of their own will, however they might be so random/ unbalanced that I rather play the ones that developers have approved and put out there.

For example, just to give fresh ideas for few campaigns and about 5 new maps:

  • Stalingrad.

Tractor Factory
Grain Silo
Stalingrad Airfield
Stalingrad Outskirts
River Crossing to the city. (Maybe some boats, artillery and machine guns, anti-air etc… Messy momentum)
Stalingrad underground drainage systems, connected cellars and tunnels.

The more maps there are available, the longer people stay playing this game overall. The longer game stays “fresh” and the more people are motivated to invest in to it with all other smaller purchases.

For Normandy, there is endless amount of small towns, villages, German major bunker holdouts and artillery positions as well as submarine dens and other things that caused plenty of trouble for the allies to get hold to.

Moscow Campaign

Could have:

Train yard and logistics center that Russians held on to when Germans advanced.
Factories and areas as well.
Russian heavy fortification that held heroically, BREST
More a bit bigger and heavier built towns and cities available.

Berlin

Berlin suburban area
Berlin factories
Berlin Zoo
Berlin Outskirts (Really heavy and intense battles with heavy German defenses, insane amount of potential)
Berlin subways stations/ Metro/ Connected cellars and drainage system. (Underground Berlin)
Tempelhof/ Airport defenses?

What does everyone else think? If you have any map ideas, please share them and let them all come out.

Winter maps in Stalingrad should be a priority along with the known landmarks.

Also Berlin needs the Reichstag assault map already.

Also stalingrad needs some decent camo uniforms for snipers. Right now they stick out like a sore thumb. But winter maps… Yes

One suggestion how to expand Berlin a bit could be changing the campaign name to “Berlin & Königsberg”

Or to “Soviet Storm - Fall of Reich” and therefore add quite a lot of space for future expansion in maps and locations?

Berlin fell on May and Königsberg fell in April, there were few DAYS in between:

Battle of Berlin - Wikipedia

16 April – 2 May 1945

Battle of Königsberg - Wikipedia

Late January to 9 April 1945
Final assault 6–9 April 1945

At that point weapons were the same anyway with plenty of “Last ditch weapons” all, fleeing, trying to hold off the Soviets and chaos.

Desperation and extremely brutal fights.

Some one give a stalingrad a new map, please

Agree!

Posting my bimonthly repost of my Berlin map ideas:

Proper Seelow Heights
Flaktower
flooded Subways
Inside the Reichstag
Tempelhof Airport
Berlin Olympiastadion
Berlin Zoo
Berlin Sportpalast
Spree Forest pocket
Battle of Halbe
Beelitz Tunnels/Hospital
Just more generic street/outskirts maps

There’s a problem.

Making a proper map with huge amount of details, barely enjoyable gameplay for both sides, testing and balancing it, etc. is already a hard thing to do. And it’s not like players do them, using already existing assets and parts of the map. You do it from scratch, you do it in many steps, and even huge companies usually release 1-2 new maps per major update.

No way to make 5-10 good and unique maps for every campaign in 3 months with a team as small as darkflow. Cuz if they won’t be good, you won’t play them, and if they won’t be unique, they’ll look similar to existing ones, and will be boring automatically.

Jeah bring 1 new Map and remove 2 old Maps cant be the Goal for Future

Really good ideas, there is so much potential on Berlin alone?

Not to mention the other campaigns that we already have.

I understand that making proper balanced maps is hard, however it is necessary in order to continue construction of this game and bring more depth into it for players to stay longer.

There are simply put, too few maps for so many different weapons and squads that we already get to enjoy?

  • We need more maps, even if it would be 1 map for each campaign at the time?

Personally, I see that it should be the primary focus for now on for this game to continue.

New maps and Asia Pacific campaign.

This game needs more depth, all that there has been recently on updates are just more features for already existing game-play which are nice, dont get me wrong but the real depth of the game comes from basics such as many maps.

Which one you would choose?

ALL the weapons in the world and only 2-3 maps to play on.

Reasonable amount of different weapons and variations and about 300 maps to play on?

  • Which one gets you bored faster?

It is the weapons. All the effort put into details and adding more and more weapons and squads will get wasted unless there is enough so called “Space” to play? It would be a tremendous waste overall.

Eventually, there should be so many maps that it would become impossible to remember them all by hard and even hardened veteran players would have hard time remembering all the gimmicks and layouts.

I will try to increase the power of my argument with one more additional claim:

  • Why would I pay, lets say 40 euros for some special squad that I get to use in few maps only?

If there are a huge quantity of maps and environments, then it is understandable. It stays interesting and putting some hard currency makes sense, there is the feeling of progression involved.

Games can not stay too self-repeating they become too “stale” then they will fizzle out and die off.
