It actually is, because with the GE duplicates and due to forced grind you are required to go thru shitload of absolutely useless smg’s and top of that you need to buy them, regardless you wouldnt ever use them.
How ever, if the quadrubble beretta variants with little to nothing different than mag size is what you are asking, sure.
Pps42 30mag PPs42 29mag and so on.
We can take that just little bit further, and make the gun stampings different so they are totally unique guns from different factories.
Regardless performance is 99% same, mag size being the only differency.

Quite sure people have complained about ppsh box dispersion as soon as it was discovered years ago.
Anyway, for some odd reason Mp38 back then also had broken dispersion and if I recall it was fixed in matter of weeks and at most in months.
While we’re about to celebrate the 3th ? birthday of broken ppsh.

Whats the point of having both Pps42 and 43 on the same BR when they are so similar, one will always out shine the other this way.
I dont talk about br 2 - there axis have 25 or more variety with smg? Thst is insane. I do like this kind - play for fun and for test some uniqe and rare gear. All these endless sobs about too many weapons can easily be balanced by putting close samples in one window so that they can be skipped. But complaining about diversity is nonsense in itself.

Its not similar. PPS-42 is better for some middle and pps-43 at close distance. I like this variety you try to cut off.
I don’t see people use pps43 in BR2 though, especially since obrez ppsh is better at close range
