France BR4-5 could be filled with prototypes and paper designs for tanks, not worse than Japan
from what i know France even has more semi auto potential than Japan due to being a precursor in the domain

Almost all of them have no real armor, are slow, big, and have shitty cannons that are mostly decent at killing infantry, but not really noice against Panthers and Tiger I models, let alone II models.
Also, all of them are not in WT excluding the ARL44s and one of them does not even face Panthers, but Panzer IVs in War Thunder.
Furthermore, to my knowledge, France never even had blueprint rocket launchers or jets. And most of their fighter planes do not even have access to payloads.

It doesn’t matter for the context of the game that Japan had practically no tanks outside of some HaGos.
Japan has interesting vehicles and guns in the game for balance purposes - but this is simply not representing the real Japanese army.

hey - its your argument that French surrendered and thus cant have BR5 gear - while ignoring that Japan had in 99.9% of the cases Arisaka and rarely a Hago.
My point is that both factions can work, when going for the prototype route, but if you want to be actually strictly HA, then France could have BR2 tanks, Japan could not.
The few Chi-Nu tanks that existed and theoretically could have seen combat were pretty much just comparable to Shermans or Panzer IV - and that by 1945, what a breakthrough.
French had the B1 that actually saw successful combat. Imagine B1 vs Hago or Chi-Ha.
If you actually want to have a discussion about French tanks past 1941 you would have to pull out prototypes - which isnt all bad as we see it kinda works for Japan, but the question is whether it is worth the work…

This argument is simply false - Japan had outside of naval and airforce technology pretty much just bolt action infantry.
The French ground forces seriously were better equipped / or had more advanced technology at 1940 than Japan at 1945.

Well, it depends on the metrics because native and real French tanks arguably are as bad as Japanese tanks if you consider them by WT standards.
Planes are arguably worse because almost if not all native French planes do not have payloads and low ammo count and I am not sure if they even had (modern) naval planes.
And 1940 France was arguably not more advanced than the Japanese. The Germans made more MAS SMGs than the French. France had fewer SMGs than Japan. They had no rocket launchers and relied on the Boys ATR while the Japanese at least had their own domestic ATR and a rocket launcher by 1945. MGs are about equal. Both sides had next to no SA rifles and relied heavily on BA rifles.
