Developing a normally functioning automatic (self-loading) rifle for a full-size rifle cartridge has always been a very difficult task, requiring considerable knowledge and skills from the designer. And it was just such an extremely difficult type of weapon that the foreman of the 1st art undertook to develop. Slavinsky!

The rifle he designed had a gas-discharge automation with a gas engine and a transmission mechanism located above the barrel. The barrel is enclosed in a tubular perforated casing. The receiver is tubular, with a screw-on cover at the back. The rifle, in its current state, lacks the front part of the stock, the trigger mechanism, and the magazine. However, based on certain external characteristics, the rifle appears to have had a trigger-type trigger mechanism that allowed for firing with the bolt open (from the rear sear), and the magazine was derived from the SVT rifle.
