Tiger tanks did fight against the Americans, Battle of the Bulge? Do you think that tigers only fought against British and Canadian troops? and what about in Africa, where Rommel Commanded Tiger Against the British and Americans
Since when Battle of Bulge is associated with Normandy campaign?
he made the argument that tigers never fought against American troops in France, I know the difference between D-Day and the Bulge
Yeah, he did. As an argument to why Tigers shouldn’t be introduced in current Normandy Campaign, but rather left for the future, when Ardennes might come.
Shot ISU 152 equivalent 50 kg bomb, for what he need?
future?
i mean, tigers can, and i suspect, will most likely be in normandy as well. perhaps premium?
but what @41048361 is trying to argue, it doesn’t matter at all. because tigers were present during the normandy campaign.
As There were four German units equipped with Tigers in Normandy.
Schwere SS-Panzer-Abteilung 101
1 June 1944 reported 37 Tiger I’s operational and 8 in short-term repair
13–16 in action June at Villers-Bocage, reported 9 Tigers lost in action
Schwere SS-Panzer-Abteilung 102
20–29 May 1944, received 39 Tiger I’s bringing it up to authorized strength of 45
22 June, first detachments began arriving by rail in Paris area
First in action 9 July 1944
Sent to area north of Falaise on 9 August with approximately 21 Tigers operational and fights actions at Espins, Martainville, Falaise and Necy until 18 August
Schwere Panzer-Abteilung 503
In Germany for refitting on 1 June 1944 and reported no tanks on strength.
Received 33 Tiger I’s and 12 Tiger II’s between 11–17 June 1944 bringing it up to table strength of 45 and making it the only unit with Tiger II’s to operate in Normandy
In action 18 July at Cagny during Operation Goodwood and 3./schwere-Panzer-Abteilung 503 (3. company) is hit by bombers and suffers 14 men KIA.
18 July evening reported only 9 tanks operational with an unknown number in short- and long-term repair.
Panzer-Kompanie 316 (Funklenk), attached to Panzer-Lehr-Division.
- The company was attached to the Panzer-Lehr-Division prior to June 1, 1944
This unit was equipped with 3 Tiger I’s and 5 Tiger II’s which had been modified with radio remote-control sets for Borgward explosives carriers. - The Panzer-Lehr-Division received orders to march to Normandy on D-day
- Panzer-Kompanie 316 did not bring its Tiger II’s to Normandy as they were prototypes with technical problems and they had been scheduled to be sent back to Germany. However, due to the rail net being under attack by Allied air power, they remained in Chateaudun, to be eventually blown up to avoid capture

so all those numbers to say that tiger tanks were in normandy. weather we could argue that some of them never actually fought the americans, the same could be said about the jumbo.
but considering enlisted that it’s meant to be realistic, it means we can see them. not to mention the already present dead chassies over normandy and others maps as well.
so… yeah, we will most likely see tigers as well.
balance is screwed anyway…
Okay, thanks for all the data. I admitt my mistake.
But still I’m worried what will come if the Tigers show up in Normandy. Considering devs choices we could end up with Pershings or other '45 tanks thrown into Normandy.
The only thing I want to see about that is all those Jumbo defenders reacting to “just flank it”.
Americans never fought tigers in Normandy… as we had already established that this discussion was about Normandy, I felt no need to reiterate my original point.
Yes the Americans fought tigers in the Bulge, but again, the battle of the Bulge was not in France, thus confirming my point.
All tiger tanks in France at the time of and following the invasion, where tied up fighting the British and Canadians in the north.
All records of Americans fighting “tigers” in France do not match up with German records of where tigers where. This is because the Americans misidentified them, as the Pz.4 looks similar or… because fighting a tiger sounds better in an after action report.
Not saying the Americans never fought a tiger full stop.
Here is the proof to this claim.
Dr Mark Felton
“AMERICANS NEVER FOUGHT TIGERS!!!”
he says as he grips his Enfield, sitting on his sten gun while driving his mythical jumbo tank.
Quite the opposite.
I dislike the Normandy campaign because of those issues.
It’s bad enough as it is, with American units with British guns.
The Germans are too superior to the Americans in everything…
Someone had suggested just renaming “normandy” campaign to “western front” because the ahistorical additions don’t look like they are ever going away and I tend to agree.
There’s a lot I would do differently but it’s not my job so lol.
thats actually not a bad idea, it doesn’t limit the dev to a VERY specific time frame and avoid all this bantering, maybe rename it to Battle of France, but that might be a 1939 campaign
SPAA trucks are just aa gun mounted and easy kills for infantry…
Why? Why do we need more? This ISNT war thunder, this is an infantry combined arms game, we don’t need AT or AA vehicles, none of the maps call for such vehicles.
Combined arms game included all kind of vehicles and planes !!!
If you want more vehicles play WT - personally I’d take half the bloody things out!
well you can cry all you want as all modern ww2 fps games have so many vehicles and its awesome… if you dont like it go play cod or counterstrike !
For me game doesnt have enought vehicles, apcs and wepoans for total diversity ,chaos and more dynamic gameplay !
And tanks 2 slots should not use the same slot as plane or apc… plenty of time you want to counter the enemy bomber but cant becouse tank is using the slot !..this mechanic makes the bomber op !!
