Hello,
this is the 3rd and last part of my list of things that could be changed/added in Enlisted. The first dealt with things that needed to be fixed, second one with things that needed improvement and this third one is simply a bunch of ideas I have that I’m either quite ambitious or I’m just unsure about.
- Make the trooper squad interesting
- The trooper squad as of now is quite boring. This may be as intended but I still think there could be at least something in the upgrade tree to make me pick this squad over the other ones.
- Customize divisions, planes and tanks
- I understand that the game is trying to be as historically correct as possible. The way our squads have actual division names, history, and so on is a proof of that. However it’s not that great seeing 50 same or similar looking soldiers around the battlefields when I know that different divisions had different clothing and styles. It would be great to have a feature where we could unlock/buy historical skins for respective squads to spice up the battlefield. The same goes for tanks and planes as well, as different tank divisions had different paint job, sometimes had gadgets or decorations placed on their vehicles.
- Better rewarding system
- The rewarding system as of now works quite well if you want to truly focus on a single campaign, however it is extremely unsatisfying to play for example the Moscow campaign while farming for the Normandy one, because since I can save up the stuff I get in Moscow for Normandy. It would be nice to get some campaign specific rewards to make sure that all the faction we play get upgraded to make us more interested in them.
-
Volunteer divisions and weapons
- Some of the most elite divisions of World War 2 were volunteer corps from a lot of different countries for both Axis and the Allies. They were very few in numbers so it should be somewhat limited but I would still love to see them implemented into the game. Examples for the Axis are the Finnish, Romanians, Hungarians, French SS, Swedish, the Spanish, Estonian and many others. For the Allies it can be the Australians, Canadians, Brazilians, Africa conscripts, Irish. And for the Soviets it could be the Mongolians, Tanu Tuvans, Armenians, Azerbaijanis and so on. The game could implement them as either skins, or actual squads with their native weapons. I would love to see weapons such as Suomi in the game as well.
-
Bonuses for perk points
- The perk system is nice but it would be also interesting if the perk points added a slight bonus to the soldier with them. My idea was the green leg would give 0,2 run speed per perk point, the red heart could give some small % to either health, stamina or both, and the yellow fist could give some very small advantage to reload. This would also make it more challenging for snipers as every soldier would move slightly different speed as I have mentioned in a previous list and it would also make higher star soldiers a bit more special.
- More experienced soldier AI
- The soldier AI has a long way to go but it would be nice to see higher star soldiers do better. There could be a system where the more starts a soldier has, the better the AI performs with him.
- Choosing game modes
- It would be nice to be able to choose which game mode I’m gonna play. Sometimes I get a battle task to capture an objective and then get 3 times in a row Omaha defense.
- Different game modes
-
This point has a lot of potential. I believe there is a ton of people that have a lot of ideas that could be well implemented, here are some of mine.
-
I’d love to see a mode where the defenders can push back the attackers and become attackers themselves. Something where the frontline can move both ways.
-
When I see how big the map is from a plane, and how a lot of the maps is connected, it makes me wish for a large scale mode where we could explore much larger parts of the battlefield
-
A serious game mode with comms, command, no shooting indicators and so on.
-
King of the hill where the team that remains on an objective for the longest time wins. Or finishes with the objective captured or a mix of both to make it fun and balanced.
-
A mode where other players take control of soldiers in your squad, meaning you can all control a tank together, can spawn on each other, complement each other with soldier classes and so on.
- White castle, mansion and river with a bunker rebalance
-
I feel like these 3 maps in the Moscow campaign are unbalanced and need a bit of a change.
-
The white castle conquest - One side not only doesn’t have a staircase leading into the middle objective and has to either take the slow and revealing ladder or fight for the middle staircase but also can’t reach the wall objective since the wall there is broken, meaning they have to walk along side the wall, once again being exposed to the enemy who can safely take the wall rout and snipe along the way.
-
The river with a bunker on the other side - The side with C in the village has 2 advantages. They have a trench and a hut on the bunker side, where they can much more easily get to the bunker objective B, but their objective C is hidden in middle of a village making it very easy to defend. On the other side, A is in the middle of a plain, with almost no cover, making it really hard to defend. Not sure but I also believe the side with A is facing the sun, making aiming much harder.
-
One side (I think the C one) on the mansion map cannot travel through the roof all the way to B and has to drop down a hatch and go into a chokepoint to get there while the other side can safely take a covered rout through the attic to get all the way to B.
- Dynamic map designs
- Battlefield started to do this I think during the last two games, perfecting it in Battlefield 5, and I think the Omaha beach is also using it a bit in Enlisted. What I am talking about is a map that is not just a flat bit of environment, but includes hills, rocks, is entirely located on a slope or other interesting features. It’s not enough to add 2 hills on sides of a map as it feels forced and out of place. The beauty of Battlefield maps is that they feel real thanks to their dynamic and realistic shape. As if you took a random place in google maps, and just said, okay, here they had a battle, despite it looking really asymmetrical or not game compatible
- More destructible stuff
- I love how you can blow up parts of the wall in the Omaha beach landing map and I just wanna encourage the developers to continue with this mechanic. The more the better, I think there could be a lot of places where this could be implemented and I would love to be able to destroy even houses sometime in the future.
- Reward the player for managing to land a damaged plane
- Sometimes when I am shot and know my plane is no longer operable, I try to land the plane just for fun. It is really sad when despite damaged parts and no actual airport I manage to land just to be instantly killed by the grey zone. Currently it’s best to just deliberately run the plane into the ground to get the fastest reset. It would be nice if there was something that rewards the player for actually saving and landing a damaged plane.
- More drivable vehicles
- I have just recently noticed that the trucks in the Normandy mansion map are drivable and I love it. It would be great to have more random vehicles drivable and I would love to see some armored trucks as well. (such as the iconic Sd.Kfz. 251 or the M3 halftruck)
- Removal of random wrecks
- A lot of maps are full of random tank wrecks and a lot of times they make little to no sense. Since actual playable tanks that are destroyed leave behind a wreck, I think it would be better to either remove these random prop wrecks or at least make them match the map and theme. When we are defending a small village and I am running around 10 destroyed tigers I’m kinda wandering what the hell is going on. It would also work if it was at least stages as a ambushed convoy getting destroyed and not just random tank wrecks lying around.
- More tank death models
- Looking at all the tanks that were already destroyed during the match is nice but it gets less nice when I realize that they all look exactly the same. It would be nice to get some more wreck models, representing the way the tanks got destroyed.
- Sound of soldiers and tanks
- I’d love to hear a shell ricocheting off of a tank. It’s one of the most satisfying sounds I’ve ever heard and all I get in Enlisted is a sound of a trash can hitting the ground. It is really annoying when all the spawned soldiers shout the same stuff with the same voice actor all over themselves. I also believe the tank crew has a chance to make some chatter when you get a kill, which feels out of place, as they happily shout over each other in a weirdly positive way.
