I’m playing Axis in Tunisia (yeah, I’m one of that guys that likes this campaign) and I can´t find a good reason to change my fully upgraded Berettas M1 for MP40s.
I think the Beretta M1 is the best one silver order SMG of the game. It has almost the same stats of the MP40, larger capacity magazine, semiautomatic mode and only at half price. Fully upgraded (at half the cost of a MP40) is an excellent SMG for every situation.
So, there is any reason to change the Beretta M1 for the MP40 or for any later SMG?

the m1, m38/42 and mp 40 are all pretty much the same (questionable campaign design)
i would personally just stick to the m1, but thats probably just me being tired of the mp40 after having used it in 3 other campaigns. (+ the 40 mag and price make it better imo)

Basically it’s a decision between 40 round mag and slightly faster reload. I’m used to my good ol’ Mp40, so i mainly use them (and some MP28s too).
stat wise they are the same, the beretta has 10 more rounds in its magazine tho, you gotta try out if the MP40 is more accurate / has less recoil, if not… then its a win for the beretta.

I prefer the sights of the mp40, especially in poor lighting or glare; The handling on both is pretty similar, and the 40 round mag in the beretta is very nice. It’s really a matter of preference and priorities.
I’m wierd but I like to give my German squads all German guns and Italian squads Italian guns, so for me it depends on the squad but I use both

In this campaign I mainly use Beretta M1 as it’s pretty much the same weapon as MP40 (tho I still have 4 max stars from before weapon logistics update).
Can I ask some offtopic question (to not create another topic for that), was there some player migration in Tunisia campaign lately? I wasn’t playing this campaing much, if at all, since early December untill now and I remember how back then it was so easy for Allies to win.
Yesterday I’ve played as Axis (both sides at lvl 26 btw) about 6 battles and haven’t lost a single one of them, there were some pretty hard battles, but overall it wasn’t so hard to win for most of them. Today so far I only played 1 battle as Axis and yet again we won Invasion in the Oasis map as attacking side, quite easily without building a single rally point.
I’ve been playing this game for three months and at least the 50% of the battles were in Tunisia in the Axis side. I’m not a top player (usually top three), but lately it seems that there are better players on my side. I’m winning more battles than a month ago, but my gameplay is improved too so, I can’t tell for sure.
By the way, thank you all for your answers.
Actually the daytime has great influence on my recent winrate depending on the active playerbase, while others being absent(sleeping/working issues and stuff).

What’s the difference between m1 and end campaign beretta??? I cannot find any difference!
I’ll just stay with m1… it’s cheaper to upgrade…

Why is no one playing Tunisia cough cough
I only play Tunisia when it’s a task on the Battle Pass, but yeah, I never swapped to the MP-40 when I got to it.
The M1 is actually really good, especially upgraded.
used both quite a lot and i have to say the M1 Beretta is better than the MP40. It has 8 more rounds and nicer iron sights.
The MP40 should not be on the Tunisian campaign it needs to be replaced by the berretta m1918 or another Italian smg.
Too much lazy copy and paste on the Tunisian campaign makes the axis so boring to play.

No point in using the same shit you have done on the other 3 campaigns
Even the Allies are pure ctrl+c, ctrl+v looking at M1903 (both starter and sniper variants), Winchester shotie, Bren (and then not even the common Mk.III type), M1918 (like yay the BAR again), Lanchester, Sten, Enfield, PIAT, M1G, M1 Carbine and the Thompson are also really similiar. Even have a P-38 without rockets.
Its either copy+paste or copied from Normandy (sometimes justified (e.g. Sten) or… just why (M1903 snipers).
And dont get me started about Daimler and A13.
