In the spirit of keeping the topic in circulation…
For a “BR4” loadout, we have:
A 20rd SMG
And the option to equip, to the exclusion of the other options in the same list:
3x “BR3” ZB-26 Light Machineguns
6x BR3 18m range Flamethrowers with 100 units of ammo each (5s burst) each
3x BR2 Grb-39 Projectile Launchers
2x BR4 Scoped Gewehr 43s
2x BR3 Grw 36 Mortars
For a squad condemned to play in BR 3-5, the only piece of equipment that actually belongs in BR4 are the Scoped G43s, with the majority of equipment being in the BR 2-3 range.
This squad is frankly in a worse spot when you compare it to the BSA Welgun paratrooper squad at BR 2 with separate loadouts for both low and high BR.
It will be a long wait
I guess the discussion about him has been going on for months.
Six flamethrowers with a range of only 18 meters and a battery life of only 5 seconds are not that dangerous.
This is also the only useful weapon in the umbrella bag.
His enemies have machine guns that double as fully automatic rifles
and customized assault weapons.
It shouldn’t be a problem to let the Germans have a few weak flamethrowers.
In the spirit of keeping the topic alive, I’ll reiterate my opinion on the matter:
The OG-43 squad should be (as it should have been already) moved down to BR II, just like the other US, British and Japanese low BR squad, and its crate reworked (as it happened for every other para squad) so that the controversial flamethrowers are only available from BR IV upwards, along with better weapons for higher tiers.
I’d let the flamethrowers be there even at BR III, but that wouldn’t be fair if BR I players were in the same match.
I disagree, there are already BR3 flamethrowers in tech tree. And the flamethrowers this squad has are like triple the time worse.
The only difference is that there is 6 of them for whatever reason.
Level 3 template
but
less ammo
more dangerous environment
Movement slowdown
6 weak flamethrowers can’t turn the entire stronghold into a sea of flames
Usually players only have the opportunity to use 2 to 3
Unless no one wants to defend at the beginning
Otherwise it would not be difficult to deal with them
That’s the saddest part of all. Even formerly mediocre BR II para squads such as the US Marines and the Japanese one are now worth bringing to BR V battles due to their crates providing top level stuff such as Browning 1916 LMGs and Tokyo Arsenal SMGs. While at the same time the Folgore squad is stuck at BR IV with low level crate options because Reasons™.
You’re not wrong, but the fact that these flamethrowers are the only ones that can be dropped directly on top of the objective can’t be totally ignored.
Any impact grenade or advanced automatic weapon dropped from the sky poses a significant threat
They can clear strongholds more effectively
Then why can’t you use a flame gun?
Because I want this squad to finally sit in a proper spot and stay there. Not made temporarily OP, only to be nerfed to hell yet again soon thereafter.
Because it’s their only choice
Look at their machine guns and anti-tank grenades
What a joke
The United States and the Soviet Union had the best automatic weapons
So they don’t need flame guns (nor did they historically)
They just jump down and take out the machine gun that can be used as a rifle from the parachute bag
Or just take a submachine gun with a rate of fire of 1000 and start sweeping away
Unless they can take out the MG13 from the umbrella bag
Otherwise the flamethrower is necessary for them
Unironically, I wish I could take more ammo for the OG-43 from the crate instead of the current MG as assault loadout option.
People talk crap of the OG because it can’t squad wipe, but imo it lets you fight just fine even at mid range.
You only have to remember you can’t just barge into a room full of enemies and do helicopterd(u)ck as you would with a 100rd Thompson.
(There’s the flamethrower for that.)
Mid-range combat may not necessarily clear enemies quickly and suppress fire.
But his enemies can do this no matter what class they are in
Relying on high-performance automatic weapons on hand or in parachute bags
They will use full-power ammunition or high-speed weapons to massacre you in the rear
Instead of an ordinary submachine gun that is stable at mid-range to complete these
