theyre not similar. the JU188 can only bomb, not shoot down enemy planes and can barely defend itself as the tail gunners are either bugged or made retarded on purpose. any competent enemy pilot will kill you 100%; also horrible aerodynamics.
the new soviet plane has quite good flying characteristics AND can shoot down planes easily in addition to the ground bombing.
2 significant upgrades in trade for a slightly smaller crew (which most players dont even use to any advantage) puts the soviet plane way above the ju188.
what exactly is the argument here when pilot cant control those turrets. unless you want to ultra buff aimbot on bots so anything getting in their range gets auto sniped.

Thb that plane has nothing special since the american A COG with 12 rockets and the other versión with bombs exists
And with the new TU-2 this plane is on Br5 because 12mm are 12mm far superior to the 7mm mg’s on the JU-188 also if we see maneuverability… Is trash and knowing DF the TU-2 have mg’s and cannons that make You are able to use by your own which in some cases allow You to take down planes while the Ju…seems that is not enjoying the experience against an F4U or a P-47
And I havent go into spreadsheets to make this argumentation more strong to prove to that plane is good where it is
Also why moving it to br5??? I mean… Br4 never exist so it Will be 99% of times uptiered to br 5 so tecnically is a br 5 thing with the br 4 Tag : )
It’s easy to shoot down anything you get the drop on with almost anything else past BR2!
My Ju-188’s used to shoot down US fighters in Normandy regularly if they got to see hte fighter first and could get behind it - that’s certainly not always hte case of course, and if it comes to a turning fight then teh 188 is at a disadvantage, but the front gunners do work quite well and the 20mm are suitably lethal when they do.
My biggest complaint with the Ju-188 is that even with it fully upgraded, 75% of the time when a fighter plane gets behind me and opens up it completely cuts my plane in half. I get great bomb kills with it and love the five man crew since I can bail out and use them as assaulters, but it’s the most un-durable plane I operate. Now my Stuka, at times I have outlasted two or three enemy fighters chewing up the rear of my plane, and still made bomb runs afterwards.
In principle, most aircraft bombings only target AI and suicide infantry who cannot find bunkers and the shortest path.

What the heck? this flight model is not only a more drastic departure form War Thunders than usual, Its a departure from “Historical”.
For what reason is this? Are planes with “actual” bad flight models like the pe-2 and the fw190 going to get this treatment? (Which have been bad for years)
Now the Allies need a bomber with five crew and can drop the same six 250 lbs. bombs. B-25 would be roughly the same size, and depending on the model had a top speed between 437-527 kph, that is if the reference I googled is accurate. DF, get it done.
