Moscow Allies RM38 or RM40?

In Berlin, I know there is a clear difference between the mortar shells, but in Moscow both are 50mm shells and I can’t tell the difference, is RM40 better, if so why, the only thing I see it’s it’s light weight, not really massive plus?

If i remember the second has more range

Range is not really an advantage imho, I usually deploy about 100m, so it’s no different other range hmm

I took a look at the Moscow weaponry section of Vault’s community resource. There seems to be no difference whatsoever between the rm-38 and rm-40 in terms of damage, dispersion, velocity, or really anything that matters. So maybe use the rm-40 to flex, idk.

RM-40 just shoots faster than RM-38, I just did myself short test and using RM-38 I shot 12 rounds in about 20s, using RM-40 I shot 12 rounds in about 16s, so there’s the difference.

It was such a long time ago when I used RM-38 in Moscow, but remember first unlocking RM-40 and I felt this difference immediately.

Edit: I must add that my mortarmans use perk “+12% firearm reload speed”, no idea if it makes any difference in shooting speed with mortar. Basically after every shot you sort of “reload” the mortar with a new round.

Don’t know about difference in HE shells, but RM-38 / RM-40 / Granatwerfer 36 / Two-inch Mortar / Type 89 Mortar all have the same range 253m, they also have the same shooting speed, except RM-38 which shoots slower than the rest.

Only new big mortars BM-41 / Kz 8 cm GrW 42 are having longer shooting range of 651m

I just field tested all these mortars.
