Ok MG42 simp
you know that US doctrine at the time specifically wanted slow firing machine guns, they designed the t24 to fire at that rof on purpose
the t24 was specificially built to give americans a fast firing MGs as they already had countless slow firing ones.
due to using a different cartridge and thus having to change multiple parts of the MGs mechanism, the endresult only produced prototypes with 400-600 fire rates, which was deemed a failure and the whole project got abandonded. the projects purpose was to create an mass producable MG for americans that had a fire rate of 1200.
during testing many t24 prototypes were built, with the stable ones having 400-600 fire rate & unstable ones reaching 800-850, though these malfunctioned too often to be usable for combat.
—> technically the weapon could reach fire rates of 800-850 & since enlisted doesnt have jamming/malfunctions it can use this as a proper argument to give the t24 a firerate of flat 800.
the current 610 shots/minute are simply boring and not fun.
no, the t24 was built because it would be a cheaper alternative
the actual documents themselves state a heavier bolt was used to reduce the cyclic rate “consistent with U.S requirements”

German stuff makes sense but the allies need nothing because for whatever reason they will always give the allies or the Soviets some straight up advantage in some departments.
Who even asked for a complete removal of the movement penalty?
Because Soviet need all the help they can get and we need to find every arbitrary thing we can throw at Germany
Tyr rpm needs an increase for sure
For the people that love realism:
Well, since I basically really only use Machine Guns in level two for Germans (MG13) and Soviets (RPK 1943) and the BAR 1918A2 in level three Allies, I don’t really have any feelings on the level five MG’s, even though I have MG42 and MG39 premium squads as well as two M2 Stingers, which I rarely use. I do play level five Allies and Germans, but other then using a couple BAR’s for the Allies, really don’t use high level MG’s much. I like to stay light and mobile.
If we are requesting MG buffs, then I request a 40 round magazine added to a BAR and adding it to a level 4 or 5 tech tree. I call it the BAR 1918A2/40.
do you understand how research works? a topic is understood by collecting the relevant facts of all data. you cherrypicked 1 document that states one thing. there are others that depict what i said. in fact i posted a complete picture of the situation, which is proper research, you post a distorted view by excluding 50% of the relevant data.
spend some time researching all relevant data about the t24 project & you will also reach the understanding i posted in the beginning.
mg42’s problem is not rpm but the damn recoil is sucks
spitting a full powered cartridge at over 900 rounds per minute will do that yeah
Cough cough Stinger or Vickers nonsense or however PPSH box works
This low rate of fire is a disgrace for a machine gun that became known for its high rate of fire, exceeding the 900 of the MG34.
it’s both plus awful mov dispersion
