This is NOT a suggestion. I have not lost my sanity (yet).
The title is more or less a clickbait and the honest title is Mkb42(H) compared to the BR2 M3A1 Grease gun.
Just to make it clear, Im not suggesting putting Mkb42(H) to BR2, obviously, this discussion is about M3A1 Grease gun actually.

Despite the Grease gun having seemingly amazing stats, you never see veterans playing with it, veterans playing BR2 Allies use Lanchester and M1A1 Thompson exclusively and even noobs rarely seen using it.
TL;DR: How come that this BR2 pseudo assault rifle is so unpopular?
I don’t know what’s more clickbaity, the title or the hentai pfp. In all honesty, I feel like the Mkb 42(H) could float at BR II. The M1A1 is very close spec wise, only losing out in damage but making up for rpm.
I used to use the M3A1 a lot while I was still grinding BR II. It’s not actually a bad SMG. I absolutely loath the Owen and M1A1. The recoil is terrible and the sights are too. I think a lot of people don’t use it because it’s unusual, basically being a fully auto M1 carbine and not a PPSH.
I apologise. I was cracking it as a joke, but maybe it didn’t come across that way. I suppose there probably are worse images floating around the internet. . . . .
Now this hurt me instead. Speaking of summer time when right now I’m in winter getting -9.4 in the mornings. Worst part is, I don’t even get snow.
well MP40 has better close dps than MKB - let that sink in
however, the main reason why assault rifles are amazing is that they have neglectable damage drop off.
you can shoot those guns and even at 100 meters distance be effective even with full auto power.
45 acp is not a intermediate cartridge and as such has more bullet drop, damage drop and is generally difficult to use at range.
MKB in BR5 has no value, STG is just as accurate but can defend itself against SMGs because of a significantly higher rate of fire, but in BR4 it could compete with Kiraly as a “bad up close, but better at longer ranges - alternative”
BR1 Greese gun is terrible, its rate of fire is completely unusable, every bolt action is superior. BR2 Grease gun is better, but still shoots too slow to be worth using, not to mention it has bad sights.
I honestly dont agree with your resoning, if anything BR2 grease gun could move to BR1.
Same thing for me, loved the recently brought back field mod and completely swapped to greese gun for a week or so. Although I’m slowly loosing my mind over that nasty finger reload I’m kinda alright with it.
I’d almost say BR III, but BR IV is definitely the highest it should be regardless. BR III just makes more sense because then the MP 43 can be BR IV.
I have to disagree. The sights and the gun itself is actually among the best available (at least for tier II BR II. Lanchester is Tier III BR II and M1A1 is Tier IV BR II. I can’t remember what the Owen is).
It takes a little bit to adjust to, but once you learn how to play it properly. . . . . I have been able to get mid-range kills and even long range kills easy enough. The hardest part for me is leading the shots, as 45 ACP has the worst bullet velocity. I would still take it over a shotgun though.
I support this. FNAB should be down tiered as well, or rpm/damage increased.
I use the M3 Field Mod Grease gun in level one, in my Hurricane plane and in my tank that I never use… In level two, I only use three Grease guns total, all in my four troop APC. Three Suppressed Grease guns which lack the power of the M1A1 Grease guns, however since I paid for them I figured I might as well use them instead of the M1A1. I like them, however All my level two squads either carry Thompsons, Hyde’s or UD M42’s so I have no place for them. If they would drop the M1A1 Grease Gun to level one, I would probably equip my medic squad with them, which currently carry Sten’s.
I would still use it in BR2 regardless since its a reasonable downside for BR2.
But yeah this kills the weapon, sadly its faster to hit the enemies at a distance with M1A1 Thompson or Lanchester thanks to much higher rate of fire.
The only good news is that the M3A1 Grease gun´s base fire rate could be increased from 410 to 450 rpm, if someone bothers to find a book or something as source.
This is the main reason I don’t use it or the FNAB. I actually like them both, but the low RPM is a liability, especially for the FNAB since it has the same hitting power as smg’s that shoot almost twice as fast. The FNAB as is I would maybe consider using it if it were level one, but not level two unless the ROF was increased.
Actually, this makes some sense. Overall, it has (almost) the same stats as some SMGs.Plus, there’s an OP thing called ppsh - 41 “Obrez” and i think its a good response to the PPSH. Less RPM, but MORE damage. Most of smgs 2 - tap anyways, just like MKB - 42 (H). Also ppsh - 41 “Obrez” can deal a whopping 78 dmg per a second(which is OP for SMG, since it turns into MG, but with less recoil) and sits at BR - 2, meanwhile, MKB - 42 (H) deals 66 dmg per second and this thing sits at BR - 5. it should be downtiered
Mkb42(H) should be BR4 considering that
A) it has much better damage drop than SMGs thus has hit enemies at longer ranges less times
B) it has high muzzle velocity so if theoretically a soldier with Mkb42(H) and M21/28 Thompson fired at each other at the same time, the soldier with M21/28 would die first because the bullets hit him faster. (Plus the game is buggy so its common that your bullets disappear after you die)
Otherwise, Mkb42(H) is not impressive at close quarters at all since even high fire rate BR2 SMGs have higher DPS.
