Would make using the MKb worth using in atleast one situation. The MKb is worse than the MP43 and StG44 and the latter are pretty much the same gun.
You should´ve realised a while ago that the game isn´t going the way it should be. Less vehicle spam, more Infantry focused would´ve been my preference.
I disagree. It is better that weapon classes stay distinct. Engineers are riflemen, so they have access to auto rifles. Only Assaulters should have assault rifles. I also think they should remove them from Medics as well
I have suggested the Gustloff Mkb42g as Germany’s automatic rifle.
It’s tricky because there is a tug of war between what is an LMG and what is an automatic rifle. It’s like no one would say the Bren is an automatic rifle, while no one would say the FG 42 is an LMG
I think it boils down into role. An LMG is for suppressive fire, an automatic rifle is like it’s label it was basically like a standard infantry rifle that could go automatic. That’s probably why they say the FG 42 had the potential to replace the Kar98k
I have suggested before that they could make the M1918 BAR and a field modified BARa2 as auto rifles, while the BARa2 would stay as an MG because at least it was modified for that role
The classification of guns up to WW2 is very controversial. Can the Fedorov be called an assault rifle when there was no concept of assault rifles, is the BAR not a marching rifle, etc…
And StG and MKb can also be called automatic rifles.
Again, if the design is to not allow engineers to have automatic weapons, then the MKb can be an assault-only weapon.
I find it unnatural that the MKb is the only one excluded when the FG42 and M2 carbine can also be used by engineers.
The federov was chambered in a rifle round that disqualified it as being an assault rifle. The intermediate cartridge is one of the core factors in designating what is an assualt rifle.
Yes, I do, but I understand that assault rifle is a term that was coined after StG44.
Even if there were firearms that were similar to assault rifles in design concept before StG44, I don’t think they are technically assault rifles. Because even the designers would not have known the term.
The labeling of guns is a very complicated story.
