First major “wow” was in 2019 when I first learned there was a WW2 FPS game under development that would after years of “them Normandy beaches” and disappointments from BFV/CoD WW2/HLL finally feature the Eastern Front (at the time none of those games had it), and actually good genuine Eastern Front vibe, not just “haha Stalingrad from Enemy at the Gates, Red Square go brrr” like in CoD 2.
Then, there was the epic Battle of Stalingrad trailer with iconic locations, propaganda loudspeakers, flamethrower tanks – an instant pre-order for me and I couldn’t wait to find Paulus’ office in the Univermag and to defend the Railway Station with the Dancing Children fountain at the front.
Despite having a powerful PC, I guess I’m too old to be excited about most games and all of them are “meh”, but these 3 instances were awesome.
PS The Pacific was a “medium-wow” effect (it’s nice but BFV made it way better tp be honest), and Normandy & Tunisia were “meh” for me, because featured a lot in other games.
As such, ever since the Stalingrad update (1 year ago), Enlisted hasn’t produced any “wow” effects on the same level as the 3 mentioned above.
Darkflow, pls give “wow” content again. (new paper weapons on 67th level or premium squads are not wow content)
Totally agree. In fact the detailed portrayal of the Eastern Front battlefield is the only reason I play this game. I wish more could be done in areas forgotten by the mainstream Western game market, like the Korean War (as a Chinese gamer I can guarantee this will trigger the Chinese market, there are too many players longing for a game about the Korean War)
get ready in these days to get a new dev blog speaking of the new 10 premium squads and only 8 “”“new”" ( recycled ) levels from one campaign to another as a new level
Enlisted so far turned into other meme show. Question so far is how far the devs are aware of the joke but looking at the fox nasty ass comments I guess they don’t care and at the same time are aware that they crashed against the wall.
But then, some people still defend them and the ridiculous prices for the premium squads.
The game just had a small event commemorating the Koenigsberg battle but not a single map that takes place there also we are still missing the battle inside the Reichstag building itself.
Also this game having a dedicated Eastern Front campaign like Red Orchestra 2 instead of just mixing it to campaigns on other fronts.
