Tunisia, and especially axis tunisia, is my favorite campaign by a good margin. The slower weapons, the really good mix of complex buildings and short open areas, the gorgeous interiors, the tanks that actually all look and function truly different from one another, and the reasonable quantity of weapons that feel like real sidegrades all make it so much more enjoyable than the others. Don’t get me wrong, I have fun on Moscow, but my heart belongs to the desert.
Well said, captured my feelings too
Other than the occassionaly skilled SBD pilot, You can easily forget aircraft exist in Tunisia.
Tunisia maps are amazing, and a lot of people think so. I don’t remember if it was Quadro or MikeGoesBoom, but one of them said that the main reason he plays custom games is to enjoy Tunisia maps without suffering Tunisia progression. The biggest problem with it is bad weapon choices, especially for Axis, but not only. I agree that both Germans and Americans should be there, but I feel like this campaign should be mainly Italy vs. Great Britain.
Tunisia suffers much from gaps between Axis and Allies. Before train update, Allies were players only, now it is the opposite most of the time (or the Allies became much worse for some reasons).
People often complain about the engie at lvl 9, yet the vast majority of players didn’t use the engineer before Tunisia and still does not use him. Guns are mostly recycled, tanks are weird and air is even more boring than in other campaigns.
Now tanks have improved I will go back, I loved the layout, but maxing axis back then was tough!
But with my BF110 Premium and pzIII, the axis might stand a chance!
I just hated the try hard, bunny hopping, Thompson and Bren carriers who leaned even when no window or door!
But Tunisia as a map layout, gameplay style is very good!
