Premium is more than the xp boost. The extra troop slots are where it’s really at. Additional permanent troop slots are also on sale so those are pretty sweet too. I wish it came with more perks, but those are decent and especially at half price.
Being able to take in both my fighter plane and my assault plane into a match is huge.
I wish they would additionally buff the 506th paratroopers by making them at least as good to have as the Soviet event paratroopers who came with 6 Federovs and the ability to change their gear out. If I could set them up for BR1,2,3 matches, they’d never leave my roster. The 100 round Thompsons could be restricted to be used by paratroopers only to keep them from being distributed to common Assaulters
Yeah. True. But I am an infantry main in this game. I don’t care about vehicles that much. I can play with the tank quite decently. But I don’t really know how to fly planes in this game. That might be because I didn’t play War Thunder beforehand. I am happy with what I have currently. The slowed progression actually makes me come back to the game on a daily basis. But I may buy premium in the distant future if I ever happen to feel like it. Let’s see.
I am as well, but I love flying too. For me, the choice comes down to what I’m working on and where I’m needed to help us win. If I’m with people who are bullrushing capture points, I’ll try to get to the sky to lead bomb for them and take out enemy bombers before they get a chance to drop on target. It’s a dynamic thing.
I’m the exact opposite. I don’t really like the tanks.
Do you have any specific questions about flight in the game that you might like answered?
I’m to the point where I have to guess which of my best squads will be the most advantageous to take with me and that almost always depends on randomness of map selection. Being able to take 6 infantry squads allows me to take a Mortar squad without sacrificing one of my machine gun squads in the roster. I also have a fairly large collection of “my guys” at this point so Premium lets me take them all with me. I made a $25 buy several months ago to buy into last season’s battle pass and just had accumulated gold sitting around. Made +100 from last season and another +100 from this season. So ultimately, I think my extra squad slot cost me like 2 bucks. I still have enough gold left from that 25 to pay for next BP season
Yes and no. Generally, there are some squads that will be in multiple presets as “utility” (In my eyes anything slot 7 - 10 and soon 11 are all just utility. Slot 1 - 3 is your Cycle/Carousel, Slot 4 is your Motorized / APC, Slot 5 is Plane, and Slot 6 is Tank for me).
7, 8, and 9 are typically Radio, Mortar, and MGunner for me. With a Air Superiority Fighter in slot 10. As such, many of those squads can be used in multiple presets within the same BR, so as long as there are at least 3 of those squads we are good (cough, need a Japan mortar, need a US mortar, need a Japan APC, need a Soviet APC).
I have two radio squads, two machine gunner squads, a fully loaded assault squad, a mortar squad, paratroopers, and a riflemen squad(M2 Carbine upgrades are bound to them) available in my rotation and I have P51D, F4, and P47 needing slots.
I have 8 slots and they make the roster building A WHOLE LOT better but still not enough to take everybody.
I typically main as my Sniper assigned to my first Radio squad or as my P51D pilot. Second infantryman if my sniper gets dropped is my machine gunner attached to the radio squad; he picks up the sniper rifle to go with his BAR and goes to town. That’s typically how I attack a round and go for best sniper, ranged master, best machine gunner, and best radio. They get rotated in every time they come available and I go with Radio2 if they aren’t and I really feel the need to call an airstrike “right now.”
