Martyrdom perk

That’s the point, I find the gameplay where people can squad wipe me and my 8 other dudes who also have the same automatic rifle shouldn’t be happening, but because the AI in this game are essentially meat shields and extra lives, people think that pushing a 9 man squad and winning is normal. It’s not, someone will shoot you, either with their primary, or with their sidearm after they lay on the floor bleeding but not yet dead.
Also, I’m all for friendly fire if you don’t like the idea of dropping grenades when downed.

I’m certainly confused here. I’m saying it would prevent this 1 dude killing a 9 man squad cuz someone downed would definitely pull out their sidearm and return fire before he finishes the wipe.

I’m in agreement with you that it’s not normal to push a 9-man squad as a solo and expect to come out of it without a scratch. It is very unreasonable that someone would ever be able to do this. However, this also falls to the fact that the games squad mate AI is crap and needs an overhaul. I’ve reported this issue to the Devs and showed in game matches of how bad and useless they are to the player. I’m hoping they put this issue toward the top of their to-do list and fix them.

I’m not expecting AI terminators because that would take away from the player, and you would have more issues and balancing problems if they turned them up to 11 and people were getting shot across the map from AI infantry. However, there is no reason why they can’t be more useful than just being meat shields and extra lives when holding an objective or making a push for a contested point on the map. Honestly, the AI in this current form I don’t trust at all with even tying their shoes let alone watching my back as I’m trying to hold a point till reinforcements show up. I think that’s a big issue with the game they have this squad-based mechanic and its poorly implemented.

In which case that AI gets better than a perk that allows sidearms while downed isn’t needed.
Also, I’m not sure how they can’t find a balance, like I’ve rarely seen AI this bad.

There are plenty of games out there that have player characters interacting with AI in nonlinear environments. You don’t have to copy the code line for line of these games but use them as examples. But true this AI reminds me of Nintendo 64 AI where they had no clue what the player was doing because the player didn’t actually exist in the AI’s game space. Couldn’t tell you how many times they walked in front of me while I was trying to shoot the other team, or just stood up and ran around when I was crouched/prone being still. Stuff just makes no sense, but hey our feet don’t air walk on uneven ground anymore so that’s a plus, right?

A perk to have a __% chance at a “last stand” could be a lot of fun in Enlisted. Great idea!

It would have to be a semi low or even rare chance to prevent obnoxious spam. Could you imagine downing a 6 man squad only to have 6 pistols now firing at you?

Headshots and explosions could negate any chance to slim down the occurrences. Or make it only possible if a troops loses all hit points from damage taken to the legs.

Ahh ok I got you. I agree. I thought you were talking about the grenade dropping upon death (martrydom). Sorry for the confusion.
