leaderboard is OK because i would learn from the best players how to coordinate and cooperate with each other by watching replays. and yeah cheaters get exposed if this is just in their intention.
If I remember correctly, the last event with leaderboard had completely obvious cheater with hacks in top 10 as well.
It’s not that big deal since it’s all about a meme profile picture, but still, bruh.
How’s it even possible to have exploitable gaps as large as twice the number of supposed players in a match.

I looked at the leaderboard and it’s terrible.
We need better anti-cheat features, but what we need more than that is for the development team to be proactive in dealing with it.
I think that any moron who proudly posts the results of their cheating on the leaderboards should be banned immediately.
The development team is being made fun of by these Chinese cheaters.

Well, there’s reason why we haven’t had a leaderboard event in a long time.
At the moment, it’s probably just players using exploits.
But last time, as I mentioned, we had a proper legit hacker in the top 10.

Yeah, technically cheating with cheat tools might be exploit different.
But in the sense of “cheating” I think they are the same thing.

Yup. There are cheaters in every game, and there will be times when the leaderboards will be corrupted. The key is for the developers to “clean up”.
i think they tried to abuse old bug (which may or may not be fixed in zombie MM), but discovered new bug. without seeing any code i would guess that all 3 groups requests arrived at same millisecond and that is why it put them in same queue. if my guess is correct this is one in a billion event.
The foundations of this game is so unstable so it’s not exactly surprising what’s happening

And how do we know there aren’t other people who might deliberately take advantage of this exploit? And just aren’t stupid enough to end up in the first few visible places.
That’s unfair, your leaderboard can’t be trusted for obvious reasons. Everyone who’s practicing in the event should get a portrait!

well it is quite easy search in sql. they just need to see if there are more than 4 players in match and if more than 4 players have kills and disqualify all matches with those conditions.

I’m not a tech guy, I have no idea what you mean by sql. (Although it’ll probably be some totally obvious thing)
You, as a player, have the ability to check it? Since I pretty much doubt they would have addressed this issue themselves if the community hadn’t pointed it out.
And I have no good reason to believe that they’ll fix something that isn’t visible at first glance.
At least for the vast majority of players it isn’t easily visible.
