⭐ Making Enlisted a little better. N°461 - Aviator binoculars /

During WW2 it was very common to carry binoculars as a pilot, especially in aircraft that did not require an assisted ventilation system, so it was comfortable to use them, as a co-pilot or assistants, mainly in bomber and fighter-bomber aircraft and ground attack.

On the Allied side, the B8 x 30 and the BPC4 8 x 30 stand out. On the side of the Axis, Dienstglas 6 x 30 and Dienstglas 10 x 50 stand out.

The Italians, on the other hand, used the Brevettato 6x30 and 8 x 30 models,

The Japanese, Nikon Type A.

Dienst Glas 10 x 50.

Nikon Type A.

Interesting idea. Would this take the place of zoom or be its own thing?

Completely replace the false zoom.

Hmm. Personally, I like the “false zoom” as I use for more refined aim with the MGs and cannons. I’m on Xbox so I use a controller, and even with a refined custom setup of controls its still quite difficult to accurately hit without that zoom.

I would be all for adding it in its own way. Especially looking out the sides of the plane. Especially as it would have potentially much greater zoom than current zoom.

No it was not. For a spotter it might have been common, but definitely not a pilot. A pilot would have had binoculars. It was hard enough to fly without screwing around with your perception.
