Once the update comes out, Japan will have no attack aircraft in BR4 or BR5 while at the same time they will have 5 high tier fighters that are all in the same squad.
Any Japanese player will tell you that it is impossible to run more than one high tier aircraft and the problems this imposes when the only faction you can play against has the wombo combo of P-47 and Meteor.
The best solution besides giving them a brand new plane is the move the Kikka from a fighter to an attacker and putting it in the same squad as the D4Y1. That way dogfights over the Pacific will be a 2v2 and high tier Japanese aircraft will be much more open to choice.
For those asking why the Kikka, the first big reason is that it has the biggest bomb in the game and has the maneuverability of an attacker. The second reason is that the IN GAME DESCRIPTION says “It was intended to serve as a light bomber”. It makes sense for the Kikka to fulfill the role of an attack aircraft.

IJN has always regarded kikka as 攻撃機/特殊攻撃機,This means that it is designed as an attack aircraft or even a kamikaze aircraft, which is why its naming convention is different from traditional Japanese aircraft. In Japanese, kikka means" 橘花"
