Currenty we have some weapons/vehicles that are used in multiple (or even all) campaigns.
For germany I counted 68 in total (44 weapons / 24 vehicles):
- 48 were unique (26 weapons / 22 vehicles)
- 14 can be found in two campaigns (12 w / 2 v)
- 6 can be found in ALL campaigns (weapons)
The problem will get worse with more campaigns.
I suggest a research tree per faction.
If you play a campaign that has MP40 on lvl 8 and you finish lvl 7, take a look if player has MP40 in one campaign. If so, reward him with lvl 8. Repeat look up for lvl 9.
It is in my opinion very unsexy to grind some weapons in each campaign again and again,

This is kinda complicated. If we only had two campaigns, it’s very straightforward, but we will have 4 for sure, and probably more in the future – those connections are going to become exponentially more complicated and prone to errors.
First time in my life I hear someone describe the grind as “unsexy”. Define “sexy grind”?
Edit: Shit, I just realized what I said – no, please don’t define the “sexy grind”.

Honestly, a game that includes everything without “research” or grind would be not so appealing (for me).
The question is how much do you need to grind for progress and do you “loose” progress or need to repeat the same grind again.
I will not insert a picture of sexy grind, I promise!
Now I desperately need one of these:

Disgusting. Call me
P.S.: Imagine you are that guy and you gotta pee… I mean, what is the logistics of that?

It will be very easy for the Devs to dismiss requests in this sense by making same weapons across multiple campaigns being variants of the same model with very minor modifications, and then say “ThOsE aRe DiFfErEnT wEaPoNs!”

Off topic aside, it’s true 4x germany as a playable faction might seem redundant for some. I prefer to look at the different map settings to use their equipment in instead. But it’s not ideal because as you said, part of what attracts me is the progression, the joy of unlocking new toys and being proud using them. That aspect does disappears when you unlock the same bar for a third or fourth time.
It’s why I believe the xp boost for underlevelled campaigns trees up to your most advanced one, like promised by the devs, should be implemented fast.

must suck to play for success only and not for fun.
