My thing is why do we have british weapons being used by US forces? The Germans get the Breda, MG34 and MG42. US should be rocking the BAR, .30 cal HMG’s and .50 HMG’s as it would be more historically accurate to what support squads would have carried.
.50 is not an LMG by any means. And technically speaking we don’t have HMGs, at least yet.
Issue is they’re using USA to test Brit guns, which is why we have such a shit upgrade pool. Since generally it’s an improvement on the German side.
LMG Breda Mod .30 is their bar or T1 LMG (Inbetween a Bren/Bar)
LMG MG 38 is their T2 LMG
LMG MG 42 is their T3 LMG (Improved ROF from MG42)
vs USA
LMG Bren is pretty much a bar tier 1 LMG
LMG Bar is pretty much another on tier 1 LMG
LMG BarA2 is literally the Bar AGAIN, it should be a skin not a new weapon with 0 stat improvements.
A big issue with the American lineup is it’s just so much X gun again or low tier unlocks since we seem to either get the british tier 1 unlock, than our tier 1 unlock OR our t1 unlock than british t1 unlock.
Not sure what that suppose to demonstrate. SMG can do the same much better - shorter reload time, more ammunition, faster movement speed. LMG still worse in sqb compared to SMG but is better than bolt action rifle, which is not surprising at all.
Okay tell me what the SMG would do better.
You turn the corner, with the enemy looking at you but you get the advantage of surprise, fire one bullet at him doing 5.5 damage. He fires back hitting you for 12 downing you.

They have the same next to 0 recoil/spread from shooting at the hip.
I can use the pistol in the same way. Pretty much nobody here cares about balance of “twitch” shooting that you are talking about. But let’s address what you are saying. First of all, I don’t see why there would be “one” bullet when all smg have a rather good firerate. SMGs solder moves faster and you have less time to react when spotting him entering the room. You can pre-fire with any SMG but with MG you have to make sure that you are standing far enough from the wall, doors and etc.
I have full team of MG34 and on the maps where I have to go into cqb it’s not fun at all. Typically I can use single MG squad for whole round. With cqb it becomes a game of luck, yes you can enter the room and clear it, guess what, you can do that with geweher41 too.
Then it takes you like 5 seconds to reload, with a maximum of 4 reloads in total. MP40 takes 2.1 seconds to reload and you can carry about 8 reloads in total.
Tell me something, do you actually have an MG squad that you use for cqb or it’s just your impression of how it works?
Gottem entire squad of Bar/Brens and Breda30/MG38. Leveling my Engi 2 on USA right now. Have no issue with CQC. You do travel faster that is correct but if we go for speed pistols are better since it only matters which weapon you have out. Again for what you need 2 possibly 3 bullets for it will need 1 in CQC to long range.
MG’s dont get stuck on things, haven’t noticed that on either squads.
You are just wasting tickets this way. MG is more effective at mid/long range to mowdown reinforcement. But what ever floats your boat.
I can also use it as a semi-auto rifle with bolt action range, I can also run and gun with it and hit people with 1 bullet faster RoF spray with the MG38/Bren/Bar/Breda.30/MG42/FG-42.
That’s the point there isn’t a worst case scenario for an LMG, everything is a best case scenario.
Play it like a long range weapon, you get all the boons of it being a CQC weapon with 0 punishment for missing a shot. Vice Versa where you have the damage to drop people in one shot. Weight/move speed is the only penalty of it being good in every situation.
Maybe in Moscow/Berlin LMG’s are out classed by the smg, but most them in normandy. LMG’s have higher RoF/More Ammo or same ammo as their smg’s.
MG’s can have some use in short ranges, but not the current run&gun the whole damn room clean use, that it currently sees, as there is no reasonable recoil on it. Cause for what ever reason 2 MG’s ran inside in one round in Berlin, and wiped two squads while running around in like 4-5 seconds. Not having MG’s or anything in the game available for low level users is almost no counter available. Sure you could argue that you can one shot people with rifle, but it’s not always how situations work when encountering several MGs.
Yeah trouble with that is that it is correct tactically - but Enlisted is not a tactical game - it is a silly run and gun arcade shooter - which is fun, but really REALLY runs quickly into problems with what level of tactical realism is appropriate.
Like with smoke coming shortly - that is going to screw up the game quite seriously I think…
If unrestricted, it’s not hard to imagine (especially in the earlier period when everyone will be trying it) attacking teams setting up a near-permanent smoke curtain on and behind cap points.
It will (and should) bring variations to tactics, but let’s hope it doesn’t become yet another borderline game-breaking abused meta that dominates for a few weeks/months until it gets over-nerfed.
