M1919 Engineer MG

Hi, I know the mg42 is a placeholder, but really hoping we would get an update as to what guns, soviet and us troops will have on their sandbags, I would love to see the M1919, it would make sense, the gun model is on the first allied tank, so any information would be appreciated.

Love this game, bringing my clan mates along in OBT, they usually play planetside 2.

I could almost guarantee this is planned, its been much requested, much discussed.

MAS-36 has a mosin placeholder currently as well.

They did say the m1919 would be coming with the OBT, so its likely that it will be implemented into sandbags as well with the launch of OBT

They mentioned the bar, where did they mention the m1919? I hope it does come with OBT though :crossed_fingers:

Oh my bad, they said the m1918a2 machine gun and i read it as m1919. They did confirm the dp27 though which i figure will likely be the machine gun for russians sandbags

I hope not. DP should stay as infantry hand held weapon. Stationary machinegun for SU should definetely be Maxim.

Just chill a bit and wait for the OBT  I know that that quote above in not a 100% confirmation, but it is a chance that devs will replace current placeholders when it come. I think that with the ammount of your posts about it and polls we have some time ago they already know what community want in terms of stationary machineguns.

Why would you want MG magically sticked to sandbags? It’s so stupid idea that I’m surprised that it’s even a placeholder!
Just give us normal MG on tripod behind the sandbag wall, it’s not powered by magic at least.

I still hope they will replace conquest in squads with something more cool

I especially hope for Assault return in Moscow and of course more Assault and Invasion maps for both campaigns. But new modes could be exciting too.

MG 42s have been the placeholder for everything, as their first legitimate iteration was them bipoded on bunkers like we see in Normandy.

Just like how it’s easy to slap an MG 42 onto a sandbag, the way the ships on D day fire (or at least did fire) is via an MG 42 sitting on top of the turret. I saw it when I glitched out and started noclipping during the first test.

It’s kindof like how the train in Fallout 3 is actually an NPC wearing the train as a hat, running down the tracks.

Game design economization is a very interesting beast. Arguably Bethesda is one of the kings of it.

I prefer M1919 to be a handheld weapon. so the US will also have 50 rounds MG like german have
and Engineer MG will be M1917 because it is a heavy machine gun. as in this video https://youtu.be/Oyj-ZHXFKQI?t=332. in this heavy machine gun training video also use M1917 https://youtu.be/9_HYmcm9A2o
