I think it lacks players in certain regions and time zones but from the people I see posting on EU and my own personal experiences on NA its fairly healthy at prime time. But thats anecdotal because I am just one guy playing one match.
When it first launched it was packed.
So it didn’t lack them to start. It only bled players eventually because of the monetization model (an educated guess, but probably the most likely scenerio).
Regardless of that , I say telemetry as a 9ver simplification of whatever metric they use to access weapons in this game. I have no actual idea what data they have or use as a tool here. Its just an assumption based on my previous experience in other titles.
I have no Server Data on here so I don’t know how I could post that? Best I can do is Run an AI program at screen shots to see how many times I see repeat names when in the same campaign. But that data is really irrelevant to understanding the scope of the population.
And even if I could get server data I’d be under a Gag order NDA like I was for WG to prevent me from sharing anything without explicit permission from the Dev team.
I can surmise, and extrapolate based on what I see but that’s an incomplete picture at best.
edit - I also do things like log average match finder time, player to bot ratio when I am bored just because old habits from other titles die hard I guess.
I collect a lot of data as a personal hobby.
Does it mean I have a clue to the big picture? Nope.
And I wonder if your referring to my talk about the trouble WG was having with population decrease (now that I think about it). Which was a real thing that a team of us focused on and eventually through blood sweat and long hours fixed.
