If the first HEs were made just in 1942 and the battle of moscow ended 7 days after the start of the year.
They probably didn’t use it at all in this battle…
They did produce it earlier but references are difficult to come by.
The talk page for the 2 pdr on wiki has an interesting theory - British doctrine was that HE support to infantry was an ARTILLERY function… and so Royal Artillery 2 pdr AT batteries had HE in France in 1940 - but infantry AT and tank 2 pdrs did not!

Sounds like something British doctrine would do, looking at how overspecialized tanks were.
Of course if we’re talking out-of-touch doctrine, there’s American M10 tank destroyers never being fielded as intended, and instead just being used the same as Shermans, just structured differently because tank destroyers were iirc a battalion element, maybe brigade.
Would prefer to use Russian vehicles while playing Russian

This is one of those things where maybe years down the road when they are looking for stuff to add but for now I think they have plenty of russian vehicles to use.

Yep - lots of gamers seem to be after various cosmetic or “rare” things - I’d be happy to pay for this if it meant better game play and more historic-based systems and scenarios
Maybe make them premium vehicles. Sth like: if you want you can buy Churchil and play it in Russian campain but it would have THE SAME stats as regular non-premium Churchil in Tunesia campain. With regular ballance etc.
We still want a T-34-76. Matilda was a beast in the sands but in dirty snowy December 1941 near Moscow it was completely useless. All because protectors near tracks. Snow and dirt fast get under it and it was very hard to clean it out. It was like 10 miles of ride and 2 hours of cleaning tracks.
With all the respect, it wasn’t completely useless and break downs aren’t a thing in game so that shouldn’t be a problem…
And adding the matilda won’t stop them from adding T-34, it was just a suggestion so if the devs are looking for cool tanks to add they can find some here…
