Yea, Caps on Berlin usually look like you are defending trash bin placed in the middle of the street, surrounded by buildings. In many ocasions, moving point couple of meters would result in giving it more cover for both sides, and also it would make more sense. Now its like you have a defensible position in a building, but have to go, because soviets took that burned truck in front of your building.
Like third point in the bridge mission, you defend space behind foreign affairs building. What for? Whats in there? Why there? There is no cover, you cant even place spawn in any good location, it isnt in the trenches either. Just a random piece of road.
Heh, just went and checked - I decided to main Germans, but I’ve done maybe 4 or 5 matches with allies - Probably 25ish with Germany… And I have almost same campaign level for both (bit over halfway through 3)
So that’s the same player in the same time period playing both sides, and apparently I outperform myself 4-5x in terms of XP on allies. Yikes.
I think half of that difference is because the German tanks die so easily while the Russian ones own, but the rest is probably map design… Or really shitty Germans.
Fixing these points would go a very long way. Many of them are meat grinders. I also hate the little round room in Hitler’s house or whatever. Circle is so small, a grenade in the middle clears everybody in there.
Yeah, I’m going to switch to Germans soon, almost leveled the Soviets in Berlin. Was hoping they’d fix the balance issue by that time, but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen soon.
Got my shovel, ready to eat shit for Vaterland until I unlock the MG
The starter SMG is the worst, ultra slow and sights take up whole screen, but the VG.2 is surprisingly nice with the 10round mag!
If you got a ton of soldier orders, I recommend spamming them to get a few high ranks, and a bunch of lows you can dismiss to upgrade a few K98 Kriegsmodell - You’re probably gonna take a while to level up, so investing a bit early isn’t as dumb as it might seem :-p
I’d also add: don’t… DON’T play tanks as a german UNTIL you unlock the panther. The pz4 is food. For the rest, light machine guns are key for germans, their smgs are simply not very good. Always choose the lmg squad upgrade over the smg one. As rifles and semis go, the difference between them and soviet ones isn’t that big so no problem here.
Yeah, I’m familiar with most German equipment in Berlin from picking it up. I guess the MP40 is ok-ish (as in, in and of itself, without comparing it to Soviet counterparts), the rest are… uh… how do I put it politely… strong-smelling leavings of a person who should consider introducing more fiber to their diet
I don’t ever play tanks, I’m incredibly shit with them. Don’t know why, but it’s almost like a skill I possess. I would win competitions in being crap with tanks if those were a thing, I’m not even joking. I’m pretty sure many people would pay money just to see how hopeless I am:
– We’ve marked the target for you, just destroy it!
– Not only do I not know where is the target, I also have no clue where I am, where you are, what year it is and which side we’re fighting on. Just put me out of my misery, call in arty on my position, FFS…
Dont play them in berlin the road sucks tanks for the almost time have to go around the obstacol and if a tank die in a bad position the other tanks behind him are unable to procede further because the road is completely sealed
Yeah, driving tanks is a weird skillset… You need lots of awareness with minimal sight picture, and also constantly keep track of things like body orientation etc… Plus weird extra info like “can I crush this by driving over it?” and “can my tank cross this river?” can become important suddenly. Lots of trial and error needed to git gud!
Again, you are assuming I have control over what direction the tank is going, when actually it’s more like I’m holding on to it while it does it’s thing.
Everytime I try it, I begin to understand why my dad was shouting at computers anytime he was near them.
– What?! What do you want?!
– “Insert Disk E”
– I don’t know what the fuck that means! No! No I don’t want to restart! Oh, for fuck’s sake, will you just show me the pictures from the hunting trip?
– “Insert Disk E”
– I don’t have disk E! I have cake. You want cake?
– “Insert Disk E”
– Oh, fuck off, will ya?
There’s been dozens of times we’ve just pushed the Soviets back into their spawn across the bridge
It’s always fun to do that because they don’t know what to do
Usually just deplete as many Soviet spawns as possible at the bridge and let them take it. Then just absolutely barbwire the common entrances to the 2nd objective and have team mates just surround the 2nd objective from all sides. Is very difficult for the Soviets to take.
I play NA and it’s really 50/50 on whether your team will have a combined IQ of 60 or not
Slavs have it too, but it’s more likely they’ll know to fire in the same direction as the bots lol
