Most games are one sided. Its a hit or miss on who joins. You must adapted, well try too. My advice to newbies is to stay back until you get a feel for the game and tactics used. Don’t rush in like lemmings.
Each campaign is different depending on whether you are defending or attacking. Example Normandy is hard for a defender if you lose positions early. Don’t get too close to choke points but be near enough to defend or attack until you get the feel of things. My other advice is on weapons and equipment. Don’t be in a rush to upgrade. You will get a new squad after reaching certain levels and weapons types. Try and work out what you want to play as ie sniper assaulter etc. and what weapons you favor. Squads will have specific troop types and weapons that they can use and upgrade so take your time and save those upgrade points. Two main factors that annoy me no end that I have no control over. 1. Please equip yourselves with explosive packs so you can attack tanks. Please learn how to mark targets especially tanks. 2. Soon as you can, add an Engineer to your squad so you can build rally points, ammo crates. Nothing more frustrating in running out of ammo after your squad has been blasted by 500lb bombs or tanks and you have to give up your position or die trying to grab a weapon from a dead person. Then run from a designated spawn point across the to the fight only to find it has fallen. So learn to build a rally point close by to a choke point. Crawl before you walk and run and plan your progression as you don’t want to waste those upgrade points. If you want to progress you must at some point upgrade and max your preferred squads, type of soldiers and weapons under Upgrades and Logistics. Upgrade experience options first it will increase your upgrade points per game. Certain weapon types are upgradeable. This is done under squads so look at each squad you have and choose wisely what weapon you like to use as those upgrade points don’t come quickly.
Finally after a time you will realize that game results don’t really matter, just work to your plan. Upgrades will help your game play with improved aiming, better weapon types and upgrading your squad and individual soldier types will help you a lot. As for the game play well good luck Enlisted has a lot of grey areas but just try to go with the flow and don’t try to over think why you got killed. Remember players are all at different levels, skills, equipment and weapons so nothing is even or balanced. Hope these basics help, I’m not good at this game nor do I profess to know all there is to playing. This is how I get by and learnt how to get the most out of a game that can be frustrating, grindy as hell and can suck the life out you if you let it lol.
