with the jump perk you can jump like 5 ft vertical. no idea why such a stupid idea is still in the game.

Needless to say I constantly take that perk and B hop ev erywhere.

5ft jumps are a way of representing Australian Armed Forces until they are officially added to the game. It’s an easter egg, really :slight_smile: So we know they are coming in one of the future updates for sure.

Jumping in games is fine, but it’s immersion breaking. Even by itself, without aiming or shooting, soldiers jumping during battle breaks the immersion in any game that is at all grounded in reality / history. It’s okay to create games that aren’t and it’s perfectly fine to not care about immersion. You gotta choose one or the other though, a game can’t do both things.

Jumping is much easier to implement compared to vaulting and climbing (just look at how wonky these mechanics are here compared to jumping), so that’s what almost all developers went with first. However, even in the early historical games you wouldn’t see anyone jump (except for the player, because convenience).

I like to jump… to reach higher floors in broken buildings. I’m like a monkey. Removing the ability to jump would resolve the cod/ battlefield bunny hoping plague, but would prevent my “monkeyness” . Also while very high in a building, me can shoot enemas in the down.

They only just removed it a few updates ago. However I don’t think its needed. Hip fire shots do well enough if you know the center of your screen well enough
