These decals of the Pacific champaign are quite funny to the Japanese. “昭和(Showa)” is the name of the era, and this word alone is rarely used in aircraft markings.

If Dakflow is going to use a Japanese word as a decal, I would like to see them use something that makes sense.For example, this one means “士魂(samurai spirit)”. It is often depicted on Japanese tanks.
There are some pretty cool decals available, such as the U.S. decals for the Normandy. I would like to see more good decals for Japan as well, that would loosen my purse strings a bit.
BTW, I enjoy being able to paint the markings of downed Japanese aircraft on Japanese aircraft. What the heck is this pilot doing?

Here is a case in point - the Chinese Expeditionary Force M4A4 “惠突/突惠”, probably the first image that comes to mind when one mentions a Chinese Sherman, I still don’t know what the word “惠突” on the vehicle means, the combination of the two words has no real meaning in Chinese and the more widespread explanation is that it is a misrepresentation of “突击”

About Chinese character markings, the upside-down “福(Lucky)” on a European Tiger tank is also mysterious.

The upside-down character 福 is used because in Chinese pronunciation, the pronunciation of “倒（upside-down）” and “到（arrive）” is the same, and when 福 is inverted, it also means 福 has arrived.
