No because japan focuses on their own faction and is just asking for tanks that dont suck at dealing with shermans similar.
Capping BR2 at 100mm pen even for TD is stupid when BR 3 can easiely get that much frontal armor when angled a bit. Something that the devs seam to have a hard time in understanding is that the same amount of penetration isnt equaly as good on axis tank than compred to allied tanks.
100mm pen is more than enough to front pen every single axis BR 3 even with an angle but for axis it is the bare miniumum to be able to hit weakspots on BR 3 tank unless they are angled.
The KV 1 hull armor can easiely reach about 130mm raw armor thickness when angled properly before the loss in penetration of the shell is factored in. This is something unheard of for any othere BR 3 and even tank…

But well same could be said about a lot of low BR tanks at their repective BR being unable to punch thouh othere tanks front armor… The KV would not be unique at that if it was in BR 4.
