Yes it was notorious for have a slow traverse speed even by the standards of the day!!
two words my man. User Error.

Tanks are fine, if you are having problems seeing where to go and keep getting stuck chose commander view and then pop out the turret (not sure if key on PC) but I on ps5.
They are supposed to have limited visibility, they are vulnerable to troops, so stay back, once you have cleared out initial enemies, they will likely be back with det packs and try and flank youā¦
Tanks aint fine they behave like your triangle in Astroids game and even if hand cranked it should not still work as poorly as it works in game! Go spin some ZU-23-2 and tell me its fine!
the problem is over and under travel which shouldnāt really happen when stationary because of the mechanism being hand crank operated which allowed refined movement of gunner sight. speed however is slow with hand cranked.
you never played āHell Let Looseā? they actually have a realistic tank controll, but iām with you. The aiming in this game with the tank doesnāt feel good, especially when u never played War Thunder or World of Tanks.
you do realize the the zsu-23-4 is not a comparison to ww2 tanks due to it being a modern SPAAG so it has to have a fast turret to track supersonic jets, and the tank was still a fairly new weapon compared to the gun. also looking back with the knowledge modern military have about tanks and the technology for said tanks shouldnāt be done. since most of the turret traverse would have been seen as average for electric drives and hand crank drives are slow with about 2-5 degrees a second
In HLL you have several people crewing - several PLAYERS each performing a different role - bit of a silly comparison!
I understand the complaining about the tanksā¦first time I got in oneā¦wellā¦I stopped using tanks for a whileā¦But if you really just put in the time and effort to learn the tankā¦how it movesā¦what you can and cant do with itā¦they are amazing weapon systems and feel really well balanced overall for their destructive power. And donāt judge their damage until you get into the second or third tanksā¦the starter tankā¦SUCKSā¦at least for the Americans but I have fought many German tanksā¦usually two at a time and they seem to have the same underwhelming effects of lack of damage or penetration if you donāt hit the right spot. While they sit and plink away at my M8ā¦missing or deflecting or not hitting any vitals it gives me plenty of time to aim for the ammo rack and insta-pop their whole crew. In the endā¦the tanks are greatā¦but purpose builtā¦you canāt rush in and be a one man wreaking crewā¦you will dieā¦stick to your infantryā¦learn the mapsā¦learn your favorite tankā¦it gets a whole lot better with practice and experienceā¦and level it upā¦deviation is a thingā¦just because you aim at a spot doesnāt mean it will hit that exact spot.
Tanks are good as they are, semi simulation like, plus they damege model needs lots of work. And if u say bout shooting and missing from several meters-1. It is normal that that they can outran the turret, 2.(pointing and over shooting) have u heard bout thing called parallax? Eg. Your muzzle is in front of opsticle that is not visible in optics. This is not the game that has bullets coming out of ur crosshair but from the actual berrel. If u compare tanks to war thunder then compare how they handle in simulation mode(with is still not true simulation how they work irl)
