if you have skills and a brain, it’s amazing. Some people prefer to play with Pz III over Pz IV J since it has more armour, but I never really had any issues regarding that issue, tho once you get IV H, fully go for it, you get schurzen plates + faster rotating turret.
my tip, you’ll spend a lot of time in the campaign with Pz IV series, so spend time with them, it’s an amazing tank if used properly and has a decent gun.
oh and, don’t forget to angle your hull if enemy is aiming at you!

I used the IV J until I unlocked the Tiger
Its a fantastic tank if you play it well
Which really just entails throwing a track into reverse to turn faster lmao

Depends.
Its good in Normandy until you get the H./ Panther but in Berlin I would insta replace it with the Panther.

I still rock one in normandy since forever.
Actualy what is better in it in comparison to H version?
For me the painfully slow turret traverse was too big of a downside to even concider using it.

Worse PZ IV H in-game and historically speaking
On the assumption that you like using tanks the 75mm L 48 on the PzIVJ will be sufficient to destroy all US tanks on Normandy frontally wihout much effort, with the exception of the Jumbo, where you will require both accuracy and RNG in your favour to kill it frontally through the MG, get a penetration through the turret ring, or a deflection off the bottom of the mantlet into the driver/assistant compartment. To kill the Churchil, you can try to drill the MG ports and turret ring, or if you can gain elevation it has the same LFP vulnerability from WT - that’s the very thin very steeply angled plate that meets the perpendicular UFP with the MG and driver port. From the side its effective vs all tanks.
The slow turret traverse means that this is a long range platform, and you need to pick your fighting positions accordingly as at the ranges in Enlisted, this tank has no armour to speak of. Whilst it does have an MG to defend itself, you need to maneouvre with the whole tank itself which is very terrain dependent, so once again pick your sniping spots carefully…

They explode nicely.
pz IV J is… an ok tank.
but no where good as the pz IV H, the panther, or the tiger.
differences between the pz IV H and J, is that when fully upgraded, the pz IV H has a faster turret traverse.
and in normandy unless you are a gray tank zone campaer ( which is no good use for anyone ), you are gonna use that turret traverse and it’s really helpfull.
another… thing, is that, sideskirts actually works. and HE cannot kill if your enemy use them against you around the tracks plate.
the pz IV H is also slightly faster of 20 kph.
( you feel them more in reverse )
and, the pz IV H you can achieve it after 5 levels prior to unlocking the pz IV J.
which to be honest, i can’t really reccomend you to waste precious bronze and/or upgrades cards on the PZ IV J when in about 5 levels you get a better vehicle.
and if you fully upgrade the PZ IV H instead of the J, you are struggling much more less than you would be by using the PZ IV J for all the levels up to the panther ( 11 levels against 5 ).
and once you did those 11 levels with the panzer H, you can grab for free the panther from gold orders ( as upgrades for the Panther are expensive than the ones on pz IV H ).
but it’s up for you.
