Mfw as a Normandy campaign main, I come in and see Allied players QQing over not knowing how to kill a Panther using their Jumbo…
Shoot the Gun, Shoot the Tracks. Keep your distance, rely on your armor and their shot dispersion to keep you alive. If you’re tired of dying in crappy light tanks, take out a fighter with the M8’s and slap one or two onto the top of the Axis tanks.
It’s a pretty big skill gap to cover for most, but enough trial-and-error and you’ll figure it out. Nevermind the quirks in the current vehicle gameplay, you just have to primarily focus on keeping your armor as extreme as possible to the Axis panthers and try to remain mostly hull down.
Mfw as a normandy main when the axis QQing about getting fucked by a tank that only has armor as a pro for it since it’s gun not great and didn’t shrapnel
Pretty much that as well. People who play enough of both sides develop the skills to engage their adversary with relative ease. Those who don’t, suffer from either willfull ignorance or relative inexperience. The Jumbo and Panther are, ironically, decently well-matched. At range, the Jumbo can win. At closer ranges, it’s more on the positioning and first-shot advantage.
The weak-point for the Panther is its gun, because once that’s down, you pop a track off of them and load the HE to nail the crew that hops out.
Fair. I’ve knocked out a few Panthers that were poorly positioned before as well. Most of the newer tankers and ones with less experience or nerve tend to panic when they take damage. They don’t expect it, so when I manage to damage their gun, they tend to immediately begin to retreat while not understanding that’s what’s going to kill them. A quick shot to their far track typically and they swing side-on to let me have the juicy side-shots.
If Jumbo opponent is skilled enough to destroy my gun , especially on large distances, there’s not much I can do even with Panther. Jumping out and try to fix tank is only option and moving my turret left and right while reloading so they can’t hit it so easy, lol
Panther turret moves slow enough that aiming for the barrel is generally good enough. The shot-deviation in this game isn’t half as bad for tank guns as it is for the infantry.
Regardless, it helps if when you hop out, you order your tankers not under your control back into your tank with [X] key. Some people are quick enough on that draw that I miss wiping their crew out from under them. Then it just becomes a game of if I run out of AP shells before they run out of tool-boxes.
Haha, that was my secret exactly. I use this very useful function to hop out only with one guy, when needed. And all tankers also need explosive packs, if it’s close range flight.
The map needs to be balanced a little more on the German side. All German tank players do is sit on the hills (usually inside of their spawn zones) and pick off significantly easy targets. Every game I played on that map had someone in a panther or pz 4 sitting on the hill in their spawn area so not only could our tanks not reach them but infantry couldn’t because it wasn’t part of our spawn. Id love to use a plane but im too new and when we’re funneled into kill zones with HE rounds, its pretty hard to do much against them
Panther is garbage in enlisted when compared to war thunder.
that 80mm ufp is a downright lie, and the pen is so far off on the gun its not even funny. Bounce T-34s with their 45mm of armor constantly, bounce shermans, fail to disable AT guns in one shot like all other tanks, and you get OHKO’d through the face from across the map by 85 and 76 cannons all day long, i mean hell the M8 Scott is almost unplayable 90% of the time, and even it can nuke a panther in one shot through the ufp with its HEAT round.
Enlisted panther makes War Thunder’s ancient Krupp Stahl codes look balanced
