Day after day, DEVS put up promotions and create new ways and use old ones, so we can win weapons, vehicles and even prize squads, just to try to EXCITE the players.
They use old systems to try to remind old players of the glory days, and try to flirt with recruits, showing what the game once was, trying to bring them into addiction.
but based on their own data, the game barely has more than 100 thousand players haha, that would be funny if it weren’t true…
I like this game, I’m addicted, but I recognize its downfall… I pay for Battle Pass, I pay for premium account, but I know that at any moment OUT OF NOWHERE, the SERVER can disappear as if it never existed before.
Of course they will let you know when that day comes, but I don’t think it’s far away, they’ve already sucked a lot from that source, now it’s drying up…
Nope, it’s dying and to me it appears that DF is letting it just wither on the vine with some of their decisions. The game play at least for me has gone from bad to terrible, and DF offers nothing to get players excited. They don’t listen, for example, how long were people complaining about the soft rule and it took years for DF to do anything about it. How long ago did DF tell us they were working on letting players choose their own maps and game play? Well, we’re still waiting. Instead, they prioritize making blood stains look more realistic, brightening up some maps and removing their BP weapons store. The players have been banging the drum to get back their old squads back, and what does DF say? “Not available anymore”. What? You’ve got to be kidding me, you have “TONS” of ready buyers and DF is willing to just piss that money down the drain? I have no idea what they are trying to accomplish.
At this rate, I probably won’t be playing anymore by this time next year, and as I have said several times, both my kids stopped playing about a year ago. I love the game, which is why I have spent north of “way to much money” in my three years, but for me, it’s starting to feel unplayable.
The game dying has been a hot topic since the dawn of Enlisted. Doomers always have a theory why this game will die and it’s even funnier when they also list a bunch “improvements” that would magically save the game.
However if you take a good look around, you will see that the game is still alive, in fact all Gaijin games are still alive even if they aren’t profitable.
So in all honesty it’s just the player burning out rather than the game itself dying.
There are so many features in this game that are still undercooked or outright trash as they are, but with how little is added in each update it could take a year or two before a specific problem/feature is solved.
Just take repeating BP tasks and soldier customization as an example which were bad even before merge so people hoped that those things will get better after merge and that never happened even though these changes shouldnt be hard at all. Development takes too long.
Burnt out and fed up veterans leave the game, but others replace them, if you read old topics you will find that only a handful CBT veterans are still around.
Thank you for saying this, was about to say something similar:
“I’m here since 2021, the game somehow was dying then according to some yet I’m still here… funny a guy who just joined this February (according to forum) thinks this.”
It’s literally the same story for every online game.
And actually, even outside of online gamimg - doom prophets and their “feelings” are just everywhere.
No the only thing that dies to My pov are the veterans of this Game
I mean why u keep playing this after getting absolutly everything unless u are a clan member a forumnoid or a ilusional player… U have no reason to play
So…
you play only to grind stuff? that’s odd…
I play because the pew pew is fun.
recently things have ramped up a bit with feed back and changes.
IMO anyway
In my experience playing on console, I started playing the game around a year and a half, personally I’ve noticed quite the opposite. I see a lot more people in games more often, whether it be whilst I’m trying to relax in console only or playing with and against PC for a more chaotic experience. I think the game is far from dead or dying.
That’s just my two cents from my perspective over the 1300 hours I’ve clocked into the game.
Ah I’m not the only one who thinks this!
Feels some drastic changes are underway behind the scenes.
Feels like… community feedback is MORE listened to. used to be not at all or after total uproar.
Now helpers actively forward ideas and some are listened to by devs (So put the solothurn at br1 damn it please)
This would be a giant leap forward for DF and the game if indeed they start to listen more, and react quicker to player’s input. There are so many suggestion proposed here daily that there is no way DF could do them all, or even acknowledge them all, however, ones that are on here daily and supported by a vast majority of players should be acknowledged and acted on. If nothing else, at least tell us it’s practical or it’s not.
Many things DF could do to grow the game and make it popular again, question is, will they? Like War Thunder, Enlisted is not going to die anytime soon, but without DF attention it is just going to be a declining shell of what it once was. I love the game and have spent so much money custom tailoring it to what I like that I can’t really walk away, but my game play has been declining in the past year from 20-30 games a day to just about 4 or 5. I’m retired, so the drop in my game play is by choice, not because I don’t have the time. I want to be excited again, so the ball is in DF court.
Grind stuff, clans, and stop having insane skill issue
I was just making a little overwiew of veterans cuz most of them i know abt stopped playing cuz the Game became boring after grinding everything
I don’t think its dying. It is however being split more.
The BR System originally was heavily restricted due to playerbase numbers supposedly, and has only (in theory) been getting more spread out as it has grown. Without knowing official numbers though, there is no way to say for sure. But considering we are now at +1/-1 BR and we used to have +2/-2 BR and the wait times for matches dont seem to have changed, i would say its growing, but we arent seeing the growth as much, as the playerbase splits up with more BR matchmaking splitting.
We went from having BR 1- 3 and 3 - 5 to now having
BR 1-2
BR 2-3
BR 3-4
BR 4-5
We’ve doubled the matchmaking categories…we could in theory double the playerbase and not seen a difference to wait times. And matches are still populating 10 v 10 for the most part (though there are many dropping from matches for various reasons.)
Wipe and reboot?
(With conversion into gold of everything that players managed to buy for real money)
Nine out of ten people can’t fix the respawn point. Some people still believe that the game isn’t heading towards its demise. (Oh, there are too many new players in our game, and they don’t know how to play the game yet!) Do you believe this nonsense? In fact, many normal players have left, perhaps forever.
Even CRSED?
Even vet/ mid-players do not know how to play the game.
Well, so far the best evidence from doomers I got were the Steam numbers that represent a small minority of players. Where are your player numbers to show the truth?
Remove the stupid bipod restrictions would be enough.
game has 100-130k daily unique players and according to latest data it is at most popular point since beginning. i havent taken data for half year, so cant really tell how popular it is right now considering removal of GO shop, extended BP and no events in that period, but i havent really noticed lack of players.
so according to playerbase, game is not dead, but development wise i consider it dead. i consider this game 80-90% done, but it just lacks finishing touch to make it excellent game and improvements are at standstill. we may get excellent feature implemented in the game, but it takes too long cause their priorities are elsewhere. they also need to work on their marketing, cause it is utter garbage right now.
well not really. most changes are related to BR which take months to implement after they have forwarded the idea. not to mention other forwarded ideas that we have no feedback on.
i would attribute this to MM optimizations. when i checked map data in stats there was drastic difference between data just after merge and data year after.
iirc steam represents ~half playerbase
btw steam number only shows player that are running the game, not necessarily the ones that are in battle, while my data shows only people in battle(without customs and events).
Really, huh? I was wondering about the unique players with Steam numbers feeling too low to attribute to it (especially since iirc many people only downloaded Enlisted Steam to merge their achievements with their Steam account) compared to standalone and consoles.
