Improving the accuracy of the matchmaker!

That’s the idea, a new tier means that things can be rebalanced and further spread out so we can have more variety in the game my dude, not just tryhard loadouts and the same 2 tanks everywhere

SU-9 post war jet

At least it could be separated from BRs 1-5 which are WW2.

Imagine: all the fantasy stuff which was never ever used/existed in WW2 like AS, RD, Hyde, T20, Autohei, Hori, Soviet jet – can fight agaisnt each other wherever, I don’t care, from Moscow to Tunisia to Moon or Mars.

And we can have BRs 1-5 which at least try to stick to WW2.

May I ask if there’s any update on the USSR vs Japan event? I’ve been looking forward to it ever since it was first mentioned and really hope it’ll lead to the Manchuria front opening up soon. I was hoping it might come with the next update, but I guess that’s not going to be the case…

Adding a new tier won’t magically increase the player base by a lot. You will end up with br4~br6 matchmaking just like the current br3~br5.

If a faction need fantasy stuff to compete in br5, how would they compete in new br5 if those stuff are moved to br6? It will give Germany a strong advantage on br5.
So you are just creating another balance problem.

If you really want to separate, separating br5 from other br will still be better than your proposal.

Well yes, so I detailed my approach in this thread:

Yes, Darkjin would actually have to take the non-easy route for once and actually close their eyes really hard and think, but if some real WW2 stuff can’t be nerfed/changed/buffed to be relatively on the same level of overall nation power, it can go to the Fantasy BR (unfortunately).

But in any case a poor soul who dared to equip a single G43 because they like WW2 shouldn’t be sent to 1950s Soviet proto-AK and proto-Mig-29 Brrrrrrrr room.

sooooo, +1/-1. Why not just say that?

@_Melkades English only in this forum.

BR6 will further stretch player base and take us back to the issue of player scarcely.

I’d rather invest on improving and populating the tiers we have now.

Besides, tier 5 is bad enough with all the autos and prototypes.
If I had it my way, I’d isolate BR5 and let these kids do their fantasy play style…

I’d isolate BR1 as well to protect new players. These are the kids who will make the game grow so they must have the best possible game experience.

Then I’d make BR2, BR3 and BR4 match only the closest BR.
So BR2 only against BR3, BR3 up or down and BR4 only with BR3.

Balance is one of the key factors for a good game experience and a good game experience is what make us play this game on , and on, and on.

I had an epic tank shot that sent the guy flying over multiple house and pieces flying off him. I forgot I could go back and look at the reply but I have already played far too many rounds. But it was hilarious I had never seen a ragdoll fly so far.

I concur. Rather that or 1-2,2-3,4, and then 5. So 4 as its own queue and 5 as its own as well.

I do not know what all the fuss is about the PZ its perfectly balanced for BR2. These guys did not even die this is what German tanker crews are suppose to do! But yeah that tank is a murder machine It will be missed. Oh well back to BR5 across the board again. Germany BR2 gives such a great spread of maps.

I have a question regarding the new queues and I don’t think that anyone has already ask for it yet. Given that we currently have AT gun for low and High BR, what will be considered as high and low BR games now ?

I guess that BR I-II and II-III will have low BR gun while III-IV and IV-V will have high BR ones, but I want to be sure.

Oh, and this also affect the map distribution I suppose.

Another question is maps distribution

Originally the Merge introduced two queues: 1-3 (low BR) and 3-5 (high BR).

Now that we have more specific ±1 MM, it would make perfect sense to update the maps/BR distribution:

Ardennes/Normandy could start from BR 2-3 queue at least to avoid seeing the most basic prewar tanks.

Berlin could be BR 4-5 only to avoid seeing T-34 (1940) and KV-1 there, which never could have appeared there.

Stalingrad and Rzhev, of course, should be BR 1-2 and (maybe) BR 2-3 (although with the addition of Pz IV to BR3 now this looks worse than before).

Technically nothing has changed about the matchmaking’s “high” vs “low” tiers. Simply the “high” tiers have been split into 2. Therefore, from what I know, the same AT guns will be available for the same BR matches. Meaning:

BR II-III or lower will have the “low BR buildable AT gun”
BR III-IV or higher will have the “high BR buildable AT gun”

So, nothing changes in this regard. The only thing that has changed are of course a few vehicles in BR, but they’d face the same AT guns unless they were moved between BR III and BR II/IV (with BR III of course still having a chance of facing either type of buildable AT gun).

Map distribution is also unaffected (for now), since the new matchmaking doesn’t force any changes to it, similar to the buildable AT gun situation.

I wish they would have held a small event.

I guess they don’t want to mess something with the next update.
