Idea to slightly reduce greyzone camping

How to be a whiny noobs 101 :speaking_head: :fire:

Erm… There was no point when anti-greyzone tanker just whine without any greyzone issue instead of thinking about finding solution to problem using current methods that rohir and others mentioned several times. At least the current solution doesn’t make tanks neither op nor entirely shit.

But the solutions you and other anti-greyzone guys propose like forcing them to fight in playzone where tanks are entirely shit at as they all get 1-2 shot killed by det packs (except KV-1 L-11). Wanna know what happens when the easier life part goes away? Playerbase then fights for spots in planes and that is much worse than greyzone tankings.

all stupid ideas.

imagine tanks shooting from distance… totally unheard of in war

tanks being known for either breaking through enemy lines or shooting from distance, but with this idea being able to do nothing than being just big xp pinata for infantry.

sure… i am happy to spawn camp other people tanks and infantry.

Bad idea. Some tanks have slow rotating turrets (Panzer III J, Wolverine) or do not have turrets at all (StuG / SU-100) - they cannot be used as breakthrough tanks.

It was tested in Armored Train mode and players were using it for spawn-camping :-1:

Ngl even in war thunder does that shit when one team is outnumbered and even revealing location doesn’t work when you get killed after 30 second… Those who hate greyzone should really suffer more in wt because they have what they asked for lmfaoo

you forgot to mention that maps arent made for tank warfare and even if you wanted to use tanks as breakthrough tanks it is impossible cause they can only break through enemy line into grey zone and die.

Well, for quite big part of those people the greyzone camping isn’t the part they’re botherred the most with.
The issue for them are camping tanks. And greyzone issue is just way for them how to try limit vehicle gameplay overall.

Imagine an enlisted without grey zone. It’s not like majority of those people would be sprinting 150m away from objective to just blow up one tank with EP or TnT.
Nah, they would be still complaining about camping tanks. They just want to limit and restrict a playstyle that they are not too fond of.
They’re just too lazy to deal with.

But I am not saying the greyzone camping isn’t a real issue.

Agreed. I should have been more specific in my post. Lesson learned.

Although, I did mention greyzone camping tanks originally.

this is the problem i have with people complaining about grey zone tanks. tank should shoot from 100+m and be infantry killer. they should be hard to destroy, but you should also have counters to destroy them. if you have counters to kill them and are still complaining about them, then tanks arent the problem, but person complaining about them.

To be honest how to fix grey zone camping is to make the maps bigger so tankers physically can’t influence the match without leaving the spawn big action does that pretty well from what I’ve seen.

or put more buildings or objects in common greyzone points just so they cant find people and forced to move on to other part of greyzone or go playzone instead

I actually like this idea. And with some maps, noteably Normandy, this would help a lot.

I noticed it that in communist street map a lot of times you have to move toward objective and playzone to actually see and kill people. But that map also has huge disadvantage to planes because if you are not too skilled then your bomb lands in big hitbox of some buildings.

Open maps, you can change terrains around to make it a little bit of advantage to make greyzone campers happy, but at a cost like you are way too open space to get spotted easily and killed by others in greyzone

i dont think it will change anything for campers, but I dont see harm in having ammo available closer. Infact suits me just fine because I like to play aggressive tanks…Really hate having to go all the way back to rearm, showing my ass the whole way lol.

I also like the idea of engineers being able to build vehicle ammo points

But for me the best way will always be to increase the play area (same player area for both sides)

most of the play will still be localised around the objective (thanks to rallys), but with the added bonus of you can make far reaching flanking or many different approaches. Same goes for tanks

This Removes grayzone, but keeps the tanks ability to engage at much further range.

If infantry are coming out 300-400 meters to detpack/spawn camp tanks, they are way out of position to assit in a cap/defend. Also leaves the Objective vulnerable to a Sneaky rally placement or para drop.

Divide and conquer

To assist with the worst avaiable situation of spawn camp, you could follow other default rules applied to infantry or from other games like warthunder

  • vehicle spawn points will have no line of sight to the objective upon spawn
  • Upon spawn Vehilces will be damage immune for a timer or until they fire (just like enlisted infantry, and warthunder tanks)
  • Anyshots fired at a Damage immune Tank will Spot the attacker
  • Any enemy squad within proximity to the spawn area will be spotted and shown on the minimap
  • Any enemy squad spotted from being in proximity to the spawn area will have AI call in Radio Artillery on them while in the zone.
  • Any mines placed in Proximity to the spawn point will be destroyed.
  • Proximity to spawn could be 100m radius or more

Stuff like that.

Grey zone camping born to the necessity of Maximaze tank usage against the cap point, because cap point are small circle and HE from tank in most of the current map are just going delete everything inside isn’t with a blue arrow, solving grey zone camping need a necessary rework how all the game mode are played, in my opinion something like tanneberg frontline should do the trick and can even make use of the whole map instead of small section

Tldr: more cap point, bigger playable sections or just a bigger area give us less camping and more battle dynamic and options for flank camper ecc…

only if we get a lot more players per match.

otherwise bigger cap points also help.

Tanks are not op
Maps are bad

Or just use a plane

I have been playing this game for 2 to 3 years
I believe that in most maps, as long as smoke and terrain can be effectively used, the threat to campers can be effectively reduced (even on D-Day)
Or use vehicles or one-man anti-vehicle equipment to destroy them
But some groups will only choose the suicidal behavior of heading towards intensive firepower and then cry that the enemy’s behavior is taking advantage of loopholes.

Not to mention that the number of bunkers on most maps has been modified to such an extent that it seriously affects tanks’ anti-infantry activities.

This is a (war) game
Not a spiritual masturbation product of the Association for the Protection of the Incompetent
Officials should ensure that every gameplay has basic guarantees
Rather than protecting the incompetence and bad behavior of certain groups, the game loses more freedom and gameplay.
