I think ap mine is perfect example of low risk low return weapon.
You just drop it inside objective by one left click and it will bring you kill.
Before it performed too well despite involving very low effort.
Still placing ap mine doesn’t require any effort, but therefore it’s not 100% kill.
I also think mines are at a very good spot now - you still get kills and for how little effort it takes to place them its more than fair that they dont guarantee a kill.
If a sniper really wants to secure his nest from flankers, people can pretty much easily place multiple to slow down an advance.
Mines used to have terrible gameplay.
I don’t know why I saw it AT, I think I need to change my glasses .
More it will bring somedy down or to half health
Not very realistic when someone runs through an AP mine without even being knocked down and without hesitation shoots a player and his BOTs . They have been turned into Mosquito bites now. At the very least they should be powerful enough that someone stepping on one should have to spend time healing themselves. Hell, I ran through three AP mines with the same dude before he died.
Do you use the sprint perk on soldiers? Because I only use the run perk because I find it more helpful in a direct fight, and I still get directly killed by 70% of the mines, especially those on stairs.
Yeah, I was on the idea that AP mines were suddenly meh. I put them down all the time, but have noticed a big difference in their kill rate
Yes, all my soldiers are world class track athletes.
My two fastest squads are level two, one soviet and one german. I rarely get shot running acrost the battlefield, however since my BOTS don’t sprint like I do, they die just as fast as my slowest BOTS.
Well so there you have the answer why you can sprint through mines - I put emphasis on other perks.
I would gladly increase the dmg of AP mines again. But with the addition of limiting what surfaces they could be placed on. It strikes me as bizarre that, for example, a wooden stake can currently be jabbed into concrete.
I don’t always sprint through them though, and although pretty much 80% of my squads have 15% speed increase, these were the only two that have all speed chosen.
It’s also not realistic to mine the very ground your team is defending.
I would have no issues with mines being deadly again if they were triggered by everyone
Friendlies stepping on your mines → they just blow up with no damage
You step on your own mine → you die
Otherwise annoying enemy teams can just cover the whole area with damn mines and sit on top of them and it’s just stupid
Ap mine don’t kill all the time but could disable your soldier by losing a leg. Then medic can fix them up with a walmart leg
That is the way it should be with Artillery, plane bombs and Tank rounds. Would sure change the outcome of games if friendly fire were allowed with all of them.
eh, friendly fire from other teammates would suck, youd have morons dropping arty on where you need to go every day
But blowing yourself up with your own mines should be fair game. You’d do it to yourself
This was all a thing in the past, and for the most part, it worked and balanced explosives (especially artillery), at least until OBT release dropped the average IQ of Enlisted players to MAGA level and someone found out that friendly-fire artillery was allegedly a bug.
And now people are just shelling objectives to make it impossible for other side to entire while friendly troops remain safe beyond shaky cameras.
And AP mines work mostly fine now. If you need perks to survive them, Heil Himmler that some perks became more usefull. Same as GL which still kill people but cannot be used like a automatic grenade launcher which do not require aim.
