IMO rockets are one of the things that Enlisted gets more-or-less right - at least insofar as they are “better” as an aircraft weapons than bombs.
Their ability to actually shoot forwards and hence target an area is why rockets replaced bombs IRL, despite being individually less destructive - ie a load of rockets carries much less HE than a couple of 500/1000lb bombs.
IRL rockets had trouble hitting targets as big as tanks, but also IRL fighter bomber bombs had trouble hitting targets as big as villages!!

In enlisted rockets seem to have far greater explosive power than bombs. For example hvar that deletes everything irl had 3.5kg of explosives.
Though I’m not an expert so I may not know something.
That’s only because rockets aren’t so dramatically overnerfed like bombs yet, lol.
But don’t worry, since enlisted is InFAnTrY gAMe with vehicles only as addition, it will come sooner or later.
And yeah, I just saw mcburgers video about currency and it’s hilarious.
This guy either still didn’t get that progression tech tree doesn’t reflects BR, or he just leaked that soldiers tiers will truly have its own BR.

But it doesn’t “delete everything” - it gets lots of kills against clustered groups
In comparison to >10 times heavier bombs, it deletes everything.
It is just more accurate - as it should be.
Tank guns also have much less HE than bombs - and yet wipe out even more than rockets… again because they are more accurate.
As I said - it is one of hte few rays of vague realism in Enlisted.
It would be hard to not make rockets realistic. Though not impossible, especially for our devs.
As an infantryman I feel that bombs are way less powerfull than rockets. Though maybe it’s due to easier aiming like you’ve said.
Hard to tell the truth without datamining.

There’s a book out there about the Operational Research done by the British Army in Normandy and Germany in 44/45 - bombs were not very good because they were incredibly inaccurate. Rockets were also not as accurate as they are in Enlisted, but they were still much, much better than bombs.
I have a copy- Montgomery’s Scientists -Terry Copp Ed - recommend it.
There’s also an article on teh 'net about what killed German tanks in Normandy - and again not many were killed by rockets - but many fewer were “killed” by bombs - and by “killed” they meant something like there was a bomb crater within 500 yards or some such quite large distance - I’ll see if I can find that too.

I haven’t been able to find hte specific article I was thinking of, but here’s a couple of interesting reads that show pretty much how rockets were almost useless, and bombs completely useless!!
