Subnations? yes yes yes
If a modder need help or something, I canhelp you.
I’m French and I served into the Mountain troop (Maybe you know Narvik or La bataille des Alpes against the Italian).
I would love to see Hungary and France added in some way to the game. I personally think the Hungarian tree should be included in an Italian/Hungarian/Romanian tree, just like in War Thunder, because the Italians and Hungarians could complement each other: the Italian weapons/vehicles would fill much of the lower ranks, while the Hungarian could fill the higher ranks, because the Kiraly is already in rank 5, the hungarians received some Tigers from the germans, as well as MG42s and Stg44s. The italians also sold some stuff to the hungarians, especially aircraft, they both used some german weapons, especially machineguns and rocket launchers, they both used the Solothurn AT rifles, etc…
For France, I think it is a little bit trickier (of course I might be biased because I am french, lol), but I would like to see an independent french tree, because, we used our own weapons at the beginning of the war, after the fall of France, the FFL were equipped with british weapons, during the landings in Europe, we were mostly equipped with american equipment, but a big part of our forces were still armed with our own equipment, especially our forces that landed in southern France, while some collaborationist forces were equipped with a mix of french and german weapons, and the french forces also used captured tanks in 1944/1945, like Tigers and Panthers. And we must not forget that some units fought in Indochina too, so we could see French vs Japanese on some maps.
But even with only french weapons, there is already more than enough stuff to make a complete tree, the problematic part would be with the vehicles.
Exactly, instead of adding entire new factions, adding a separate TT branch with French stuff for Allies - or Italian stuff for Axis, would be a total no brainer.
Think about it, since we have maps that are BR based (should be more strict tho Stalingrad BR5 is laughable) we can easily have french troops in BR1 and BR2 with some special maps like Dunkirk for early Allies, while adding more eastern front maps to fit Hungary and Romania, while also adding the invasion of Italy.
Squad skins change with campaigns, this could ensure that US troops in early WW2 maps look more like British units or some get French uniforms,
just like Italians already get German uniforms when fighting in Berlin.
The probability of map matching varies depending on the country used, such as the Italian army, and I think it would be good if using the Italian army would increase the chances of entering maps such as Sicily, Tunisia, and Stalingrad.
just a on a late note, there are a few small sized pictures, if you want to look at the details of such picture, you need to right click on it and select open image in new tab.
You will see the picture in its full glory on the new tab.

I attempted to look this one up, but didn’t find anything but based on that you have mentioned both S and A variant makes me think that you actually meant to say 1935 instead of 45.
Its there, its the PA 1935 S btw.
But sure we could add the PA 1935 A as well.
This one has its very own suggestion
I included one rifle for each BR from BR1 to BR3 to both Hungary and France and didn’t wish to break the symmetry, but Fusil Automatique Modèle 1917 could be added nevertheless, it would be a welcome addition to BR2 Allies.
It would be cool if each faction had AT grenades to unique to them, but DF seems too lazy to do it.
This is probably the final update, I did not include the ARL 44 and the Tas 44M tanks because they were not finished during the course of the war, but now that the Soviets will get a post war jet fighter there is no reason not to include them.
ARL 44 (ACL-1)
Suggested BR and place:
BR3 - heavy tank, French subtree Tier III.
Before the end of the war, a wooden mock up was completed (Im looking at you Ho-Ri) but the first prototype of the ARL 44 was only completed in 1946, equipped with an ACL-1 turret and 75 mm SA 44 gun, a 60 mm sloped front plate.
The tank was deemed too weak and sent back to the drawing board to upgrade the tank with better armour and firepower, thus evolving into the “mass produced” ARL-44 years later.
Tas 44M (29/44M L/58)
Suggested BR and place:
BR4 - heavy tank, Hungarian subtree Tier IV.
In 1943 Hungary decided that the Turán series wont cut it anymore and reached out to Germany for more advanced tank designs, but Germany refused to share their designs thus Hungary designed their own vehicle instead, suited for their needs and industrial capacities.
Though its often called the Hungarian Panther, the Tas 44M is a radically different vehicle inspired by the Tiger I, the T-34 and the Panther equally rather than just a Panther copy.
The Tas 44M tanks were to be armed with a 80mm 29/44M L/58 bofors gun, modified from Hungarian produced bofors AA gun and 2x 34/40AM 8 mm MGs. Powered by 2 Turan engines and running on leaf spring suspension.
2 prototypes (an iron and a steel constructions) were in production when US bombing destroyed the project just before the first prototype could have been completed, Hungary had also lost interest in the project as Germany had shared its newest designs, thus the project lost its priority.
Tas 44M (43M L/43)
Suggested BR and place:
BR4 - premium/event tank
the 80mm 29/44M L/58 bofors gun could not be completed in time so the first prototype was armed with a 75mm 43M L/43 gun also used in the Turan III and Zrinyi I.
First French post war jet fighter (SO 6020 derived from the SO 6000 the first french jet aircraft)

(exists in up to 6025, with multiple armaments options)
This one:
Copied from Wikipedia!
Work on the French jet aircraft initiative had begun in secret during the Second World War, and harnessed research retrieved from Nazi Germany. Almost immediately after the end of the conflict, the French government issued a requirement for a batch of five prototype jet aircraft to be developed by French industry. To avoid delaying the overall project, it was decided to use the German-designed Junkers Jumo 004-B2 engine after severe development issues were encountered with the indigenously-developed Rateau-Anxionnaz GTS-65 turbojet engine. The British Rolls-Royce Nene turbojet engine was also adopted for some of the prototypes.
On 11 November 1946, the first prototype performed its maiden flight, flown by test pilot Daniel Rastel.
Honestly, this one is too post war and adding it would be very controversial and unnecessary.
Well you forgot very important plane for France its the Merlin P-40F-5
Its very special P-40 that is faster ,more stable and can carry same amount of bombs like the rest to be honest is a very unique P-40.
While having France as a subfaction for the Allies is neat for representing the Free French and the reborn French army after liberation, it would be a problem for having pre-1941 campaigns like the Battle of France and Belgium
Of coarse adding the French to the game now is fine because the Allies timeline starts in 1942 when America joined the war so its ok having Americans and Brits fighting together, but then it prevents us from having said earlier campaigns.
thousands of Americans fought as volunteers in the Canadian army and US also lend-leased both France and Britain so as long as American soldiers wear Canadian uniforms it would be plausible.
People would be pretty happy to get an extended timeline imo
More historical maps is always good
Interesting, but I just think Britain should be an independent faction. It’s the British Empire!
France is more closer to a true subfaction because it was literally dissolved and remnants continued the fight and were entirely equipped by the America and Britain
Well the problem is the player base there is enough equipment for Commonwealth faction
