Personally I hold right click instinctively any time I’m about to fire, and essentially never hip fire, even point blank. Only exception is the OVP, where the sights are awkward enough that I tend to feel better not using them. Is this uncommon, or do ya’ll do the same?

Only in a panic situation usually when I enter a room and suddenly there is someone there.
Otherwise I shoulder it everytime.

With automatic weapons sometimes, rifles when I feel particularly daring. Or when the enemy is downed.
Depends on the gun. The MG34 in moscow while hip firing makes me feel like the guy from Stalingrad (1993) hip firing that MG. MP40 i do sometimes, and PPSH

Depends on the situation. I hipfire most of the time in CQC even with bolt actions but happens i aim if i got the opportunity to do it but still it slows down the agility of the assault a bit (which depends on you dodging bullets or avoiding snapp aiming AI) so only if its a must or holding an position or you have to hit something in an “small window” if that make sense

i just dont use smg sights under 20 meters, maybe more depending on the gun

it would probably be slightly better to just ADS yes. but i am just too lazy.
and for some reason, hip firing is incredibly accurate in this game if you have a good idea of where the middle of your screen is. so its not like i die because of random bullet dispersion either.

the suomi is above average accurate so it is kinda cheating. but i did stand, when i hipfire i usually take a knee so i think its still a good representation

On the vickers-berthier the hipfire is super accurate and the sights are super bad so on that at least all the time
Most guns including sniper rifles are amazing hipfire in this game. Watch the tracer rounds and win. The M2 carbine in Normandy is a personal favorite because it’s quiet, no hears the hipfire mayhem

If I’m too close to 2/3 enemyes I need full view of all of them for fast target acquisition.

Yeah i had an Russian Smg Assaulter running in to my observation point thinking he got me ambushed to then realized he got quick shotted with the sniper to the chest ^^ Usually i use the pistol for cqc which is also excellent to hipfire with rly close up, but sniper is also excellent hip firing with when needed

I hipfire above 400 meters engagements with my pistol.
Besides that. Always on iron sights.
