I suppose they do “cry” because that campaign was not announced in the manner that would imply it would be entirely paywalled, but with free demo available.
This is what you get when you create hype train and speed it up based on incomplete information.
Maybe I´m just naive but many more players wouldn´t really give a shit, if information provided was clear from the beginning.

Well “free demo” as @OSTLAND says you can do
- 3 squad of sniper with the mkb42h
as free to player - same with avs36
- pps42 is not inferior to the ppsh41 once full star
- kv1 and pz4fw2 are free as well

Thats the problem here, it is not a demo at all.
you can literally play the campaign completely “free” - meaning it is free 2 play content
Which means locking best tier gear behind a paywall is just straight up pay to win.
You can’t just create free content, then say its not free to play and then implement pay to win elements into your free content just because you dont call it “free to play”.
uh what, is there any source you have on this because afaik this game has zero matchmaking

it would be true if free weapons would be weaker but it is not so, I just said now that both free to player and access players have the same possibilities, denying it is stupid
Demo is not categorized by having no content at all, it is categorized by being very cut version of the original.
Anybody can call Stalingrad free access the way he/she likes. For me, it is demo. There is no shame in having that by principle.

Because of what a lot of people have already mentioned here (including me because I’m 100 percent sure of what I’m saying) - those few guns will in no way “break” the campaign to make it a complete seal-clubbing fest. And that free weapons are just as great if you only learn to use them. How many and how often do you see premium squads users in other campaigns? (Well unless the new GE MG squad in Moscow), but all of these premium ones will always be much rarer when the free game model is implemented. Jesus Mary.

Explain your demo because if for you demo means not spamming 3 infantry squads with 9 mkb is your problem, the only really interesting thing to pay is the danuvia only that

a demo would have - Limited time - limited usages - game would stop at a certain time period , etc.
this is a free to access , pay to have all. isnt nothing like the demos we saw on ps1 , ps2 magasines xD

errr theres a pretty big difference between a dude using a premium Erma EMP squad in Normandy and a 9 man mkb42 Stalingrad squad. FG42 II, MP43, BARa2, PPSH/AVT Squads are all the top tier in their respective campaigns. I don’t even think it’s P2W but you have to admit it’s a lot more credible to claim that in Stalingrad than in Moscow or something

No, this was typical snail move (as players who dealt with WT would call it), creating hype based on incomplete information for the sake of temporarily good PR.
This is nothing but unavoidable consequence… many may have bad awakening (or disillusion if you want to call it that way) now, but they will get used to it and take everything with grain of salt next time.

and even if said benefit would be minor- still if you pay for this advantage it is per definition pay to win.

every pay to get weapon on that list have a counterpart direcly on the same class or comparable.
it isnt a stg as pay wall, and free users are playing with a kar98k only.
Well, I´m not sure whether they planned it from the very beginning… after all, they might not have expected such a big backlashes at Tunisia and Berlin scam-beta-test and returned to the original ideas of DLC campaigns… only spicing it a little so it would give illusion of compromise.
Still, yeah it looks a bit mean (or shady if you will) to announce the actual truth of things like that. But people who had illusions about practices of anything afiliated to gaijin and actually believed those illusions now must feel like clowns they are… and I don´t blame them.
They should have announced the whole thing at the same time so people would know what to expect.
