exacly my point of view early.
Keo said they fulfilled their promise of 4 f2p campaigns and are now trying out new monetization ie paid campaigns
I agree with @114857834
Right but Enlisted is a F2P game, and that comes with expectations, especially with how the current systems are set up. You’d probably see the exact same reaction if a similar system was implemented into something like Apex or Fortnite. People expect to be able to unlock everything in the campaign for free, because that’s how the other campaigns are set up. It’s not spoiled to expect that same foundation to continue
Well. Iirc the devs wanted to have some campaigns for free and some pay-wall locked. Guess this is their solution.
Paid campaigns are perfectly fine with me, but it is admittedly an odd change.
I have never seen a FTP game change to releasing paid content.
Enlisted may well be the first one potentially, at least that I know of.
its still a free game, those 4 other completely free campaigns still exist. now its just a free game with a paid expansion for those interested
yes it is. they have been spoiled by a game that has been constantly pumping out update after update of free content. they were spoiled by darkflow, but that doesnt make them any less spoiled. i would consider you spoiled if you expect everything for free and then get pissed off when stuff doesnt go your way
i would understand dissapointment, that would be a reasonable reaction, but the reactions i have seen have been quite a bit more than just that
if they want to have stalingrad freemium for now that’s okay, i’m sure that the next campaign that will be released in pre-order stalingrad becomes f2p to attract new meat
I don’t wanna pay 30 dollars for nerfed smgs cuz some nerd cried on the forums that he got rekt by them…
Yeah, it is pretty much a demo version of a campaign and should be called as such, instead of glorifying the option to play, if in fact, you barely can do so if any oposition is going to be way too ahead of you.
It is like making a paid game “limited F2P” in a sense that you get thrown among the people in endgame with what is pretty much inferior equipment (that is designed to be so) and expect people actually jumping on it and playing it actively.
All that despite the fact that playing in such a manner is actually a waste of time.
So at this point, my only complaint would be that “F2P version of access” to Stalingrad is NOT openly called a demo version… because that is what it after all is.
Stalingrad is best meme show since cb nerfs. And this time its not even Dfs fault.
Just four slots for f2p players, putting Firefly, Panzer IV HEAT or BA behind paywall, selling us five-men MG squads or useless bikes for 50 shekels… the complaints were a joke (and mostly only came from the old/ based gang here) compared to the complaints about Stalingrad.
And the fact that people complain about the 30 shekels, one of the fairest deals of Darflow, is just…
Didnt believe I would defend Df at some point.
Tbh isnt the whole game already fremium?
it depends on your wallet size
Disappointment is certainly understandable.
But Stalingrad wasn’t promised to be free, so I see no reason why they should be able to argue about the paywall.
There is also some fair argument with the wording of the original announcement actually.
It said that Stalingrad would have the pass with all of the content, but outright said Stalingrad would be completely free to play still.
In reality, they should have called it a free demo and been done. Because that’s what it is.
the most blocked levels are the last ones where they got too carried away, I prefer to ignore them or otherwise I will dream of a ppsh41 trophy tonight
Finally, some common sense.
I’m simply curious what the bot to human ratio will be if not alot of people buy in. Thinking of it as a demo/experiment is probably the correct term as the F2P players will most certainly be lower than the other campaigns
Seems like most people hate the paywall with a passion over at reddit
given the completely senseless choice of weapons (even by the standards we are used to), experiment is the most suitable word
I’m getting the feeling Stalingrad may be DOA for three simple reasons.
- Many players who were going to buy it are not going to purchase it anymore in support of FTP. (Why? So many redditors are saying this.)
- Some won’t purchase it out of fear that players won’t purchase it out of support for FTP.
- Enlisted has been a FTP game, and thus the core player base is free players who won’t be willing to spend any money.
Darkflow’s only hope I can think of is to market the absolute shit out of Stalingrad, and bring in players who ignored enlisted due to the grind in the first four campaigns.
do not go after the posts of reddit 90% of those who say they did not buy it, bought it
