HelIo everyone. I want to express my opinion about the game. For a free shooter - the game is simply excellent. Very nice graphics, an excellent opportunity to customize fighters, the sound is excellent. But there are little things that are very annoying. Hitboxes of static objects. It is very annoying that such things as piles of sand, destroyed equipment, various other static things have too large invisible frames. For example, I see a pile of sand, I see the border of this pile, but when I try to shoot on top of the pile or from the sides, I invariably shoot at the invisible, impenetrable part of the model of the pile itself. Moreover, these invisible borders are very large. Need to edit. The same applies to other static objects. It feels like static objects were created in a hurry and there was no time to accurately model the outlines and invisible boundaries of each object.
Second.
Handguns cannot shoot through simple objects such as wire on fences. I shoot from an automatic weapon - sparks and flying cartridges. I shoot from a sniper rifle - sparks and the cartridge flies off. This is very strange. Despite the fact that some players manage to shoot through the log walls of houses and kill fighters. Yes, several times I saw how the player was at a very long distance and killed my fighter while he was behind the thick wall of the house.
The third
Very raw mechanism of passage through the windows. If you get too close to the window frame, the character cannot get through the window. If it’s too far - of course, too. Sometimes there are jams in the windows. Something needs to be done about it.
The fourth
Very often it is not possible to install a machine gun in a window opening. I approach the large window, pressing button b, but the mechanics of the installation do not work. This is very annoying.
I also don’t understand why the accuracy of fire decreases when you are behind an obstacle. If you aim for a long time, then hitting a static object is accurate. If you look out from around the corner or outside the window, the accuracy at the distance decreases very sharply. I definitely noticed that. I have a good percentage of hits, and the difference between shooting behind an obstacle or in an open space is noticeable.
The fifth
The long switching time between squad members upon death is very annoying. It should be instantaneous, so that it would be possible to fire.
Here are a few that I noticed in the game. Good luck to everyone!
It always feels like your trooper is just too short for some reason, while you can clearly see with your eyes that there is no obstacle, your tropper shall still shoot not even invisible hitboxes, but your actual cover you are staying behind, rather annoying, yes.
Also should have added that there are just too much climbing animations, which hurt the game flow, like you are climbing into the window where the enemies are and its just TOO SLOW, compared even to regural climbing while not in battles, same goes with falling animations, when you can “fall” from 2 cm of elevation, get locked in falling animation for seconds, pull out the gun and DIE.
One should also adress that all the points to capture on a map have some sort of neccesity to climb, like railroad station in Moscow, where the doorstep to the builing is THAT high you need to climb over it, same goes with other houses, it is a matter of map design at this point.
1 - It’s not always the fault of the hitbox. When aiming just slightly over an object, you are likely to hit it instead of shooting over it. That is realistic and a well-known problem for shooters in real life. This because the sights of a gun sit above the barrel. Just because you can see over the edge of a wall, doesn’t mean, that your barrel isn’t pointed against it.
That being said, hitboxes in this game ARE wonky and it is a well-known problem.
3 - Windows are bugging the hell out of me as well right now. It didn’t use to be this way. Climbing through windows worked perfectly in the past. But now I am more likely to get stuck than make it through on the first try. That’s not an exxageration. They tried to fix a little bug but only made it much, much worse.
4 - The difficulty of mounting guns is another well-known problem. Been there from the beginning and unlikely to be fixed soon. Can’t say, that I have noticed a difference in accuracy between shooting from cover or in the open, though.
5 - Yes, there is nothing more frustrating than slowly getting your whole squad wiped this way.
My recommendation here: When your first guy gets killed, don’t just jump straight to the next one in line. Ideally, jump to the last soldier. He is likely to be standing the furthest away from your killer and least likely to get shot next.
Also, get used to commanding your squad to stay put behind a corner, before you run into danger. Hopefully they will obey and stay out of the line of fire.
I am not yet good at heeding my own advice, though.
