Well, what a shame we can no longer build ammo boxes then. Because xmas trees are more important.
makes me wonder why they do this.
do player use xmass tree to block entrance and the AI too stupid to find ways?
Damn how will I farm my 3 engineer assist points for free now?
ahh yes, i forget you can spam them and get hundreds of engineer score :v
It would make more sense to leave them free but provide no XP.
Engineer might be hardcoded to get 1 engineer point for a building and it might be too much hassle to fix it for this single use on Christmash
What, so thats why they did it
Ban the clown, that exploited it ffs
YOU WILL NEVER CATCH ME !
I think its mostly because players put them in doors to stop enemy bots and players.
I actually build tons of them up on a coal/rock loading tower that got exposed a bit for our sniper yesterday Think that made his day and was perfect to hide behind those christmas trees. I also gave him his own personal ammo box

Increased cost for building a Christmas tree in resources from 0 to 3.
increasing resources for x mas tree was not worth it, i mean why ? are devs not happy we are planting trees for free ?
Devs: add something
Players: exploit it as hard as they can
Devs:
Also devs: patch the exploits asap
Players:
And that’s how this cold war is going on.
Also Devs: periodically, nerf something absolutely nobody ever complained about.
Players: complain about nerf
Devs:
So far nerfing rally points so there was like 92% area of the map they were forbidden to be built was really mind blowing. I couldn’t understand how they could push it into public branch without prior testing. At least they reverted it back pretty soon.
So far there were:
But I may be forgetting something else.
there were some seemingly random changes to the bombloads of the pe-3 and bf 109 f-2 aswell
All of these recent questionable nerfs starting with semiautos is just
defo more to come. Have no doubts.
It’s highly possible with spaghetti code that they put 0 pts and somehow it overflowed and gave 100000000000 pts.
Christmas trees are legitamently valuable tactical tools, actually. They block line of sight but not fire or movement, so you can use them in windows to provide protection from snipers without preventing you from using it. You can hide barbed wire or mines under them. You can force enemies to enter a room before being able to know where any possible threats are. Etc.
I reckon thought that the change is more aimed at people inflating their score/engineering assist count by endlessly building christmas trees, than it is at people using them too effectively.
