Ammo one more bullet are always useful
I carry extra ammo on most of my soldiers.
Grenades on engineers (since they can build ammo themselves).
Backpack on tankers, to carry medikit + tool(s)
More medikits can make you survive longer in a long range firefight, but they will rarely save you in a CQC brawl, and never from a carpet bombing anyway.
I bring grenade pouch since 90% of my fight are CQC, and I like tank hunting.
Add fast heal perk
Large ammo for SMGs like PPSh and MGs, small ammo pouch for semi auto rifles and large backpack for tank crews.
Does it affect repairing?
If so, sounds like a bug.
Vary your loadout. On your smg guys? Ammo or grenade pouchs, as they are cqc and rarely survive when downed anyway. But if you got 1 or 2 troopers in your squad, give them large backpacks filled with medkits. They become your dedicated healers. (You can order them to heal you)
Speaking of ordering squadmates to heal you, do they benefit from their +healing speed/amount perks when healing OTHERS, or is it just fforthe soldier healing himself? Not sure about it.
Nope all soldier are able to use tools but are usless except on tanker you know this
I left off carrying ammo pouches for extra ammo because for some reason I rarely run out … I seem to always wish I had another grenade of ex-pack rather than more bullets. As for med kits one seems to be sufficient for me.
It would be nice if I could depend on my squad bots to carry extra ammo, grenades and med kits to resupply from but honestly they normally don’t live long enough or stay close enough to me to be beneficial in that way .
One thing I do find interesting in this discussion is that most believe that some kind of pack back is more beneficial than the ability to carry a secondary weapon
I MEANT, does the “fast healing” perk ALSO affect tank repair speed?
It can be useful, but it course it is very situational.
For example when you play with your friends and one of their tanks is in need for repair - it is sometimes easier for you to get to the tank, throw some smoke nad repair it instead of the crew jumping out of the vehicle. They can keep shooting while you repair.
My whole engie squad in Moscow carries big backpacks with two medkits and two tool sets. Ultimate support squad imo.
Can pilot use it to repair plane?
It is, in most cases.
Pros of carrying a second weapon:
- You carry a second weapon.
- You have POSSIBLY more ammo, BUT only if the two weapons have different ammo.
Cons of carrying a second weapon:
- You are still restricted to weapons for the same soldier class. So, a trooper can only carry rifles, an assaulter can carry SMG, shotgun or default rifle, sniper can only carry sniper rifles or default rifle etc.
- Two weapons using the same ammo WON’T double the total ammo reserve.
- You give up the option of being able to equip more ammo, grenades or medikits, and are stuck with two weapons.
Good question … and if the devs do another Q&A it would be a good question to ask.
