The silenced MP 40 not only has less damage as the normal one it also got way more recoil with 11/4 insted of 8/3 of the normal mp 40.
Edit: The silenced sten also shares the same stats as the unsilenced one so clearly there is no debuff for silencing needed here
The M3 grease gun also has the same debuff despite 45acp being a subsonic calibre.
While at same time Gaijin brings down Sten 2 to BR1 like some lunatics despite both mp40 and sten having similar stats. Anti-German bias as always.
I agree all the suppressed guns should have normal damage. Suppressors do not reduce the power of a round in real life, that’s just made up video game logic. If anything a sound suppressor will add to the barrel length and will increase accuracy.
The silenced sten is a worse TT sten, which is why it was moved down to the same BR. The same thing happened with the silenced mp40. It used to be still be BR3 after the mp40 was lowered to BR2, and was eventually lowered to BR2. The same thing is happening to the stem right now, but it’s just taken much longer to do so. No stats need to change, and no BRs need to change.

How is an exact copy statwise a worse gun?
So sten is worse for having the exact same stats as the unsilenced TT one, but mp 40 is better because it has worse recoil and damage?

After looking at the stats I was incorrect, I thought I remembered the silenced sten having lower damage.
I can see the argument now for the silenced mp40 getting the .2 damage and recoil buff to bring it in line. Or alternatively give the silenced sten a .2 damage nerf.
I think pretty much every suppressed smg I have bought in the game has less hitting power then the original, so I doubt the MP 40 would be any different.
Personally, I wish DF would make these guns so that we can remove the suppressor like you can remove the scope of a sniper rifle. I like the Erma EMP, but don’t like the suppressed one quite as well.
