This is just a normal mortar that the other factions have how can it be toxic ? I dont get what you mean even the special ammo wont make it toxic it covers bigger area but you will shoot it slower since the shells dont land directly they take time in the air so you can see their parachutes and take cover. Landing on an area will take longer time since do to how they work but yes if you dont hide your squad from them they can wipe big area of land. However you have plenty of time to react find the squad and kill it.

ok how much time would i get 20 second 40 seconds. i am sorry giving me three to six second wont let me get tweedle dee or tweedle dum to cover. yes players can dodge them this wont be a player kiler this is a bod farming weapon.

First you can hear them second you can see them and you know the squad is in a distance of 100 m I mean if you are getting killed by such squad really I dont know what to say… they can defend points or attack points but Assaulter or Guerrilla squad can take them out very easy since you can very easy guess from where they are shooting. Not gonna mention paratroopers that you can land but thats a waste since they dont have huge range since the mortars are limited to 100 m.

Even the new soviet premium squad that all are crying if it doesn’t get an radio operator or second engineer will be very bad squad.

one not everyone is playing with audio sorry bot boom bang for 30 minutes is not my choice. mortars a indirect fire weapons they can shoot from behind cover. an at gun or mg nest can be shot from the front by guns. mortars can shoot from the gray and from behind cover. this lets them shoot the point burning through there ammo or packing up and leaving before a squad gets there. youre turning a weapon from a grenade to a shotgun grenade. sorry but submunitions are super toxic.

They cant shoot from gray unless your team is absolutely camped and pushed to the gray zone they have 100 m distance its not a tank even anti tank weapons have more distance. Right now you are complaining about how all mortars work if they would be good and effective squads why we dont see them and we only see Assaulter spam ?

Well playing FPS with no audio is a big mistake.

because mortars suck as is there grenades you have to fire blind.
you want to make a mortar with submunitions that
can down/kill with a single hit and have an area of splash
a real submunition from such a small weapon would require a direct hit to do any real damage
again they could be balanced but would just end up as useless as mortars

Yes but having 1 of this guys will be beneficial in a team play specially if you are playing together. One mortar squad will be nice to have 2 will be dead weight 3 even worse since they are exactly as a recon squad but a bit more useful however you cant have too many of them since majority of your team will be assaulters or rifleman.

maybe even they limited rotation like you can only spawn them one in five squads instead of the normal three. or only allow them to shoot what ammo they have and not reload. they need to be rare and not used all the time for an entire match. a slow reload does not work its a shotgun a shotgun shoots slow is inaccurate and has short range. a slow firing mortar is not as big a hinderance a you have to shoot fewer rounds to cause the same number of kills.

Well in other games there is specialist roles and they are limited here sadly its not like that thats why there is a lot of lost games exactly becouse people spam useless squads like mortar or recons.

i agree on that i would like to see rider squads played a lot more. the problem is they sell squad slots making it hard unless you pay hundreds of dollars to unlock them all. maybe a squad rental system paying silver for squad slot time. that way you can grind to play for slots and increase game play time.

For me the biggest demotivating factor is that people dont press tab to see what squads are being played . You see there is one mortar guy or recon why would you spam another and then I have full squad of Vasily Zaitsev wanna be.

people also dont seem to check the map for spawn points and build none of them or spawn six or seven of them. yeah i hate seeing the max plane and tank numbers doing nothing to support the team. i try to spawn i a tank cant look around and wonder where the tank is.

add incendiary rounds instead if you walk into fire long enough to die. or add phosphorus rounds same thing. you get a short areal denial weapon you can shoot through. it also gives you limited ability to kill tanks. the soviet weapon is also a good excuse to add it to the game. i dont like fire but it not an instant kill and hard to miss seeing. bots might still walk into it but much less so.

Well there is other options when it comes to mortars there is all variety of interesting ammo and not only to Japan for US I can find similar and USSR has already 3 while US has only 2 Germany only 2 and Japan well only 1 :joy:

I have been wondering why the type 97 isn’t in the game when it was the main mortar used by Japan throughout the war. All other factions have light and regular mortars while Japan just has the light ones, (not counting the rifle mortars they just got). We complain that the Japanese tech tree could use more additions yet we have well known and frequently used system not in the game that balance and new untested mechanics aren’t good/applicable reasons for a lack of implementation.

Back in the day me and my buddy ran a recon mortar combo in the pre merge Pacific that was deadly. One spotted and called in arty with recon, the other followed up with mortars or went before with smoke (both built rallies, and recon hunted enemy rallies). We decide we were not gonna run at the point when guys with grands, bars, and machine gun nests had overwatch on the point while most of our team had bolties and early smgs pree buff. So we were winning while our teammate rushing point COD style and not building rallies probably though they were the reasons on account of their kills.

Pacific was much better before the merge ^^

The mortar squad is very useful squad and 1 squad can contribute to the team a lot.
